  1. Hi Don, I find the ground situation completely different now that I have a wood wing Mooney. David
  2. I did four cowling modifications initially when I started my project. I’m still working on two different cowlings but am in the process of moving right now. Many other issues with composite shops have hampered progress for quite a while but I am too far into it and too much money invested to walk away from it. Thanks, David
  3. Might be time to put it on the scales and get an accurate weight.
  4. It can be welded. I fixed one last year on a friends J with the exact same failure point. David
  5. Here’s a couple of pictures of the elevator I have. It was on the copilot side on my bird but I believe it can be flipped over and installed on either side by changing the elevator horn.
  6. I have an elevator off of the 66C that I use to own. A small bit of rash on the trailing edge but otherwise in good shape. I’ll get a couple of pictures and post them shortly. David
  7. Here’s a few photos of the process to move this old Mooney.
  8. Hangar is in Gary Indiana. Airplane is now in Waukegan IL.
  9. Today I received the paperwork that officially gives me ownership! Time to bring it back to life.
  10. Hi Jst, I just picked up a 56 M20 model. I’m researching maintenance on this wood wing and may be able to provide you a bit of help in the near future. Thanks, David
  11. I have this one from my old C model. Free if you’ll cover shipping. David
  12. Yes it does. As soon as I get more photo storage, I’ll post some more pictures (donation sent to Craig) This is incredible to see such an early Mooney M20 after all the newer ones I’ve worked on. The history of the build is neat to see first hand. David
  13. Hi Kerry, I do have the prop and it almost looks new. I removed it for transport as it stuck out past the trailer too far to haul it safely. I’m going to reinstall it and do an engine run in the next month or so after determining the wing condition. All signs so far are of a clean solid wing. Thanks, David
  14. Good morning, Looks to be called M20 service manual. The one I purchased was $15. There’s one more on there but the seller is asking $128. I also found them available on Essco’s website for $41. I’m going to wait until I receive this manual to see if it includes parts in it. A lot of the early manuals I’ve seen and used didn’t have a separate IPC. David
  15. Well, if it wasn’t available on an old website and given their current state of affairs, I doubt it’s available now. Found a copy on E-bay thanks to Don H.
