  1. Quote: scottfromiowa Hey Nick, Why aren't you "231" flyer or "K-Flyer"? :<)
  2. ...Not sure if this is unusual but on my 1982 M20K 231 I’m able to run 100 plus degrees LOP with the stock injectors. What’s even more unusual is that I have the GB engine and it doesn’t run all that hot. I always fly/cruise at 28” MP and 2500 RPM with a Fuel Flow of 9.5 GPH. I’m seeing 165-170 KTS with a TIT around 1500 or 1550. When I venture in the flight levels I leave the cowl flaps in trail for the purposes of ADDITIONAL engine cooling but I don’t really have to. I climb at 110kts – 120 kts 40”MP 2700 RPM 22-24 GPH TIT 1400
  3. All- I was considering applying for participation in the 2011 Mooney Caravan to Oshkosh and would like to have a co-pilot who might be interested in participating as well. I would most likely be leaving from Saint Augustine or Fort Lauderdale, FL. PM me if interested!
  4. Could someone with a better understanding then I regarding Mooney Aircraft systems please explain this excerpt taken directly from my POH if able.... A spring loaded interconnect device indirectly joins the aileron and rudder control systems to assist in lateral stability during flight maneuvers. I’m wondering if this means that I’m not having to use as much rudder input as I might have to in a different aircraft when doing maneuvers like lazy 8’s or even when just executing a normal coordinated turns? Thanks
  5. Quote: KLRDMD LOP, % power is determined exclusively by fuel flow. MP and RPM are irrelevant. According to a Lycoming, your engine is an 8:1 compression ratio. Therefore 65% power when LOP is 12.2 GPH (64% is 12 GPH) and 75% power is 14.2 GPH (74% power is 14 GPH). Cirrus runs their turbo 550s at 87% power when LOP.
  6. Jeff- So long as the wx is ok I'll be there on Sunday
  7. Here it is....not sure if it's "magic" though? http://garmin.blogs.com/pr/2011/03/garmin-announces-the-future-of-avionics-.html
  8. I'm figuring Aspen was trying to beat them to the punch tonight and Garmin will announce a similar product?

  10. Now I'm wondering if this is really me?
  11. This has definitely peaked my curiosity. I’ll be online tonight for sure to see this one!
  12. The stage is set, the crowd has gathered. From backstage the magician peeks out at the audience. The excited chatter builds and the butterflies start to swarm in his stomach. He sees seats full of discerning patrons awaiting his performance. No matter how many times he has taken the stage he wonders, will they be in awe; will they wonder, “How did he do that?” The time draws near and the lights start to dim. The excited chatter dies down to nothing but a whisper. He swallows and smiles bringing up confidence from deep inside. He has worked hard at his art and now is the time to show the world what he can do. The curtain is drawn and the show begins.
