  1. Another member is looking to upgrade the stacktubes to accept the lord style gear donuts , when I did mine I paid 300 for all three minus the rubber donuts......Any parts mongers want to sell the main stack tubes and collars for a reasonable price????? Any model from 66 to 76 will work.........
  2. Actually its a little more complicated than that , I read a ten or 12 page article explaining speeds and flutter , and you seriously would need an engineering and math degree to begin to comprehend it .... I just don't approach the red line in any plane........
  3. Actually Beech fixed the tails with a Mod , and they don't come off anymore , they never did unless the plane was flown outside of the published envelope......Fly any plane outside of its envelope and it will bite you ANY !!!!!
  4. No you would need A KI202 , KI204 , KI207 , KNI520 , GI106 , , I do Have a kni 520 I could let go for 250.00 , Regards Alan
  5. The BN2 (islander) is going to be the most cost efficient , both in acquisition , and in maintenence , Even if the others are 60 + knots faster on a 80 mile trip the difference is nominal as the approach and climb out will eat up approx. 40% of the mission , The problem as I see it is the weather aspect , as far as I know there are no precision approaches , and because of the SFRA you will always be under radar control , I don't think it will be (reliable) enough to be Viable.....
  6. Anyone???? Buehler????
  7. When I had my B I remember making a lot of replacement parts for the doghouse , pretty simple stuff ....
  8. I have one , let me dig it up and see if it looks like it will work....
  9. The Lasar cowl mod works well , and it is unbelievably simple to install , I heard a few horror stories about the ARI mod......
  10. That's an awesome price . Southeast rocks...
  11. 1500 for a 90B is not going to sell on here ....Just saying...
  12. This is not a Lycoming , this is a continental , the compression spec for being "low" is 40/80 ....If it runs good and is not making metal , than Fly it, these engines can run as far as 3000 hours safely , even though the TBO is 1700 or 2000 , TBO is a recommendation , not a requirement in part 91 , Also , as long as there is no "Catastrophic" failure , Continental will give full core value ....... Even if the crank is no good (IE var A.D.)
  13. If you have bladders , it is part of the installation... As far as the breather on the Rocket , I think Rocket is still in buisness and could advise you....
  14. Repairs , or installs ???
  15. Tony , I will sell MY airplane for MY PRICE .....your agent is more than welcome to check it out , Happy new year !!!!
  16. Buy my whole airplane , switch cowls , sell my airplane.....It makes perfect sense.....
  17. Actually alodine creates a layer of corrosion , the same as blueing a gun .... just a controlled surface prep , as far as sanding , they are not sanding off the layer of alclad , they are scratching , or scuffing the surface for better adhesion of the base coat.......
  18. These are being sold Brand new from Garmin for 2300.00 if you buy an experimental flight deck.....
  19. I like the way he "discounts" the benefit of having insurance , You pay for a service that you may or may not use .... But its there and thats what you pay for......
  20. Not stupid , just lucky.....
  21. You get what you pay for , as far as sanding , you have to scuf the metal to get the paint to adhere , even if you strip and alodine , if not the paint flakes off in ten years or so , 9K for a strip and paint is very low , Beware of prices too low...... As long as they don't sand off rivet heads it will be fine , a quick hit with a DA with 320 on it will not remove the Alclad , unless you sit there with it and hold it one spot , they are probably going to scuff the metal , the whole plane in about an hour after it is stripped and washed.... I saw a king air in an insurance auction a few years back where the paint shop sanded off the rivet heads... What a mess.....
