  1. Hey all doing a big cross country next week, and was hoping someone had an AP that can help with an oil change within a 2 hour flight of MYF. Im used to paying about $150-175 here on the east coast with me bringing my own oil and filter, so hoping for similar! I understand the sunshine tax but I got quoted $450 with me bringing my own oil and filter, so looking at what else is available. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hey all, looking to knock a bucket list item off and fly myself into Aspen this Tuesday morning to board and then leave that late afternoon to San Diego. I am parking tomorrow night at KFLY hopefully, then leaving early when winds are hopefully low to go to KASE. I do not have O2 yet so trying to figure that out. Maybe those green throw away bottles for a few hits while above 12,500? Would love any routes/tips on what to do and watch out for. I have flown around mountains before in military aircraft, and have 150 hours in my Mooney in the last 9 weeks so very current. This area is just unfamiliar, so looking for tips on the most beautiful and fun routes. I just watched this video and his (dont) crash course.
  3. Haha thanks for all the info gents, too busy racking up hours to finish these ATP mins. I basically gathered that my original post was stupid and that trying to mitigate costs while helping someone else in the same boat as me is very (not/maybe/we will see/possibly) allowed.
  4. Lots of good info thanks gents The game this year was BS. at least we were undefeated during my tenure. Entire family is army, but as the best looking one I decided Marine Corps was the way to go(as I beg my SOAR friends to let me get back in but stay an officer until 3 years as a Major)
  5. Keeping it bumped to the top, isnt that what a good forum is? Keeping the fresh meat forward? OP, wonderful plane. I concur with your top 3 assessment. Literally the exact same things I would do. Also please forgive me if I "polluted" your ad. I generally break down all my cardboard and cut all my plastic 6packs for recycling so being called a "polluter" makes my inner hippie all sad
  6. I let all my friends handle the flight from the right seat and then the few that have mooney hours i let them take left or we switch off during longer trips? Not sure what the issue is haha. Literally the same thing any flight school is doing, except now people have the option to do it with me for way cheaper(pro rata) in a nicer and faster plane. Obviously youre not trying to build up to ATP mins otherwise you would understand the struggle Thanks for your input!
  7. I feel this, my issue with my E is useful load and size. i need something that can fit a 3 other guys my size and our bags to a V35 looks like its in the cards.
  8. Im looking for anyone that wants to build time with me that doesnt mind splitting costs associated because ive flown 100 hours in the last 45 days and it gets expensive haha. Im trying to average 30-50 hours a month and I am sure there is someone out there looking to build time.
  9. Hey all, so I bought my mooney to rapidly build time for ATP and Part 135 carriers. If anyone is near Eastern NC or RVA area I will be happy to meet up and go fly for a few hours. My schedule is fairly flexible.
  10. I have the doubler I need, just need the bulkhead. Theother bulkhead I had, not the one from Texas but from the previous owner, didnt have the cutouts for the prop. If you can overnight it Iwill be incredibly indebted to you.
  11. Ok so I am new to GA and very very new to Mooney, and am in a pickle. I bought this M20E with a ton of mods, one being some speed mods and with that a new bulkhead with the cutouts and doublers. Trying to get this plane back up ASAP, so if anyone knows where I can call to find this, please let me know. My last resort is buying the Hartzel A-2295-5 but that time frame doesn't fit my mission with some CJOs I have lined up once I get to ATP mins. Texas Air Salvage had a spinner bulkhead but got it and it was cracked/welded which my AP wont touch.
  12. Im fairly certain the prop on it before was a Hartzell
