  1. Hi Jerry, Any Chance you still have that intake boot? If so, I'll take it! :-) Thanks!
  2. This was a great thread! I'm having the exact same issue in my airplane. I called the avionics shop to explain the issue and, after some digging, they called me back and had we switch ARNIC 429 to Garmin 429. I haven't had a chance to fly the airplane to test it yet but this thread has me pretty hopeful. For reference: - 1965 M20E - Dual G5's - GTN750 - GFC500
  3. I purchased 11W back in July of last year, flew it coast to coast, on several family vacations, and all over SC, but I've got an opportunity to upgrade a bit so she's or sale! TT: 5493 SMOH: 1379 Prop SMOH: 839 Paint: 5/10 Interior: 9/10 Based at KMKS (Charleston, SC) Times will change, I fly every week. Great IFR platform. GNC355 and dual AV-30s. Original Autopilot still works (holds a heading and will hold altitude kinda). I flight plan for 145 TAS but usually see 147-148 TAS at 8.7 gph at 11.5k. All logs since new. No damage history. Annual due in November. I had an extensive pre-buy done in July when I bought it, happy to share pics and report with prospective buyer. Tons of videos on my YT channel of me flying her (just Google Tom Kubat).
  4. Nevermind. Looks like it takes a few min. Leaving post up in case someone else has same question.
  5. Hey guys, Any know why the option to create a 'Topic' in the 'Classifieds' section is greyed out for me? I made a $10 donation via paypal (5 min ago)... wondering if it takes some time to gain the privilege? I'll be listing my '66 E once I get it figure out :-) Thanks.
  6. Ok, so I contacted LASAR and highly recommend Mooney Mechanic. LASAR sells a kit to replace this old ball joint connection with a Heim fitting (kit 660051-005), and it's $215. The equivalent list of components from Aircraft Spruce are $20 and they are - Heim Bushing: MW-3M - Drilled Bolt: AN3C-11 - Spacer (not needed if you use washers): 550017-005 - Washer: AW960-10 - Nut: AW310-3 - Cotter Pin: AW380-2-2 You should OF COURSE buy the $215 kit. :-) Attached is a picture of the Heim fitting for reference.
  7. Airplane: ‘66 E Does anyone know if there is a replacement available for this swivel joint at the end of my propeller cable? It popped loose today during my run up. I had an A&P take a quick look and said it looked worn out. I plan to get it pulled off to be sure but am curious is there is a more modern replacement available. There is a ball on the other side of that castle nut that inserts into that hole in the link above. Thanks! p.s. The cotter pin is bent like that because I was in the process of removing it when it took the pic.
  8. ✋Brand new Mooney owner here (1966 E). Coming to you from the aviation wasteland that is South Carolina :-) With my first annual is rapidly approaching, does anyone have any recommendation for a good MSC near Charleston, SC? I found one in Manning, SC called Precision Air but don't see much on their website regarding Mooney's (other than the MSC logo). Has anyone had experience with them specifically? I'm also considering AVL and others in the surrounding area but Precision would be the most convenient. Thanks!
