Looking at buying a '97 M20R with factory air. Its placarded for A/C operation in cruise only. Not worth as much to me in the air as on the ground. Wondering if any of you have one and run the A/C with cruising a taxiway. Also interested in understanding the reason for the placard - engine concern, alternator concern or A/C function concern. Looks like the compressor is engine driven, but I've seen a lot of talk about electrical load - does it use electrical power in addition to mechanical power? Thanks for the help.
