  1. Who are you using for paint? I think I'm going with Art Craft.
  2. I'm not usually a fan of stripes running through the back window but yours looks good for some reason.
  3. I think I can do the smaller N-numbers but a question I don't know the answer to. If I fly to Mexico or Canada (which we intend to do) don't I have to have the 12" N-numbers? Steve
  4. So here's a rendering of a proposed paint scheme I like.
  5. One thing we do at the airlines is set flaps for TO before taxi. I have incorporated this practice in the Mooney. I also like to reset the trim for TO on my after landing flow (Lights, Flaps, Cowl Flaps, Txpdr, etc).
  6. I'm thinking of Robert at FlightLines.
  7. I like this one a lot too. I want something that will look good for resale value if it comes to that.
  8. GMBrown, Nice looking K. Can I steal that K on the tail design?
  9. Yea I'm always a fan of the greys but it will never work in central California in the summer (eventhough the airplane is hangered).
  10. Looks good Tom. What do they call that blue, is a Sherwin-Williams color? I don't know why people run the stripes through the rear windows. I also am going to keep color changes from the cowling mounting surfaces.
  11. I'm trying to narrow down a paint scheme for my M20K. I'd like to see suggestions and PICs of airplanes that made you go WOW! Here's one that I like but needs to be tweeked. Steve
  12. Thanks Tom. I'll give Skybolt a call. I'm sure they've seen this before. So you ordered the Camlocs individually and not part of a complete kit, correct? Thanks for your input, Steve
  13. Are the wide flanges similar in size to the wide countersunk washers? I guess I can order some of these and see if they do the trick. Do you have the part numbers by any chance?
  14. The Camlocs on the upper cowling of my M20K were replaced by screws. I'm guessing due to the fiberglass wearing through. Has anyone done a cowling repair to fill the holes and re-install Camlocs? If so, does anyone have suggestions on the process involved? I have done fiberglass work in the past via construction of my Cozy IV and maintenance of my LongEz. Iā€™m guessing you must make some plugs for the holes then grind down and taper the glass around the holes and fill with several layers of glass and finally redrill and fit the Camlocs. Then there is replacing the nut plates with the Camloc receptacles. If anyone has done this or had it done in the past, recommendations would be appreciated.
  15. I started thinking I was going to do a $20k upgrade on my 1980 M20K panel. I have a KFC200 A/P, GNS430(non-waas) as well as the other standard stuff for that era. The biggest thing I wanted updated was the GPS to a WAAS unit; then the A/P started acting up and getting parts is difficult. So, long story short my $20k upgrade is now $100k as I feel do it once and do it right. What does $100k buy you may ask? A full suite of Garmin avionics (I originally was thinking of Dynon but the price difference really is not that huge). Keep in mind $100k includes $40k installation costs. This system allows me to dump all the steam gauges and vacuum system. My future panel is: G3X 10.3ā€ and maybe a 7ā€ if we can find room GTN750xi G5 standby GFC500 Autopilot GMA350C GNC255A GTX345 CEIS fuel senders
  16. I have a M20K based in Chowchilla (2O6). I'll take you flying any time. Steve
