  1. if those color stains on housing and rest of exhaust normal on examination, would it be safe to fly a short hop (75nm)to maintenance facility.? it’s making just 2” below max MP and again, It could be that color has always been there and not related. The plane is new to me or id know. Unfortunately my home airport is remote without service. So can have engine pulled and shipped and then replaced very easily
  2. my experience with exhaust leaks are white, maybe orange. and this is on the housing and reddish it could by my MP loss is induction or other issue

  4. Canceled a flight today when notice on T/O roll not making full MP took cowl off and examined exhaust and turbocharger. this color on turbocharger only thing noticed thoughts

  8. Quite frankly an -LB with an intercooler and merlyn wastegate, it’s splitting hairs. Sure I get the cowling difference etc, but I’ve seldom seen 252’s on the market that haven’t had top overhauls or cylinders exchanged during their life.
  9. Exactly, It'll goose on up to 14-15K but its pretty anemic. Most of my trips for business are westbound from colorado. Most of the low IFR routes I fly have MEA between 13-15K
  10. Ha! But that's kind of what i experienced in and out of Taos in my ovation. It was fine and doeable, but i did have to obviously pick my times.
