1. I’d have to agree! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2. Seems like the decision is clear. Thank you guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. Thank you PT20J and Yetti I sent them a quote request. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. Getting closer to my engine arriving. I’ll need all new hoses. The 390 going in my 1990 J takes the same hose routing as the IO360-A3B6. Open to your recommendations and PIREPS. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
5. I’ll try the triflow, thank you Skip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
6. 1990 m20J... I didn’t see anything on this in the lubrication schedule, and I don’t have the cowl off at the moment to take a look, but I’m curious as to if there is something than can be lubed to free it up a little bit. It’s gotten quite stiff lately. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
7. I expect a small cruise bump, and more noticeable in climb. One of my wants for this overhaul was to eliminate the single drive mag. So, priced out both ways, the IO390 was less than the split mag 360 from lycoming. It did require a prop change, but I was planning that anyways no matter what way I went. I’m pretty consistently seeing 162KTAS. With the prop/engine and a good rig job I’m hoping to see higher 160s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
8. Thank you, Clarence. I appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. Working on getting the parts needed for my engine upgrade. See attached picture, line 7. I don’t see the oring in the parts diagram... I did find this from precision airmotive: https://precisionairmotive.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/RSA_O_Ring_Torques.pdf So, for those that swapped an engine with one of these RSA fuel servos, did that part number 951789 do the trick? 10. Yes, I've gone through most of those. I see a few guys have installed it. I don't need a.suoer close up photo, just an image or two from the side so I can see what the appearance is compared to stock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
11. Can anyone share photos of their knisley exhaust installed on a J? I’m curious if the tailpipe appearance is similar to stock. I’m torn between the knisley system and the power flow system for my 390 we are installing soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
12. Can you point me in the direction of the SB that’s recommended it in all lycomings? All I have is this one, and it doesn’t include IO360 from what I can tell. I’d rather use cam guard than the lycoming additive anyways. https://www.lycoming.com/sites/default/files/The%20Use%20of%20Lycoming%20LW-16702%20Oil%20Additive.pdf Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
13. Thanks Hank Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14. Mine is doing something sort of similar, that I believe to be a brake issue as well. When the brakes are warm, the plane won’t track straight. Planning to get it on jacks soon and test the theory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
15. Another happy customer of the mag shop in Missoula. The cirrus service center in Kalispell broke an ignition lead on my Sr22 (when I was flying the dark side and they thought it was the mag. Cliff stepped up and offered to help, and it was fast. I eventually traced the issue to bad ignition lead, and not the mag. That was after I finished installing the cowl they forgot to install the right way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
16. Any updates on the cowl? I looked on GDS Aeros page and didn’t see it. I’d like one for my J... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
17. I like both brands a lot. I’ve read of EI having issues with the electronic ignition I’m putting in with the 390. Ultimately it can be figured out, but apparently takes a little trial and error. And IMHO, a fresh engine isn’t the best time to sort out a tachometer issue. I fly with a JPI, mainly because I had several before I got into avionics. I’m mainly curious about the physical fit in the left side of the panel with the aspen 2500 with a 930. If it won’t fit I’d be perfectly happy with a 900. I’m hoping to get with Greg at baker avionics this week to get his thoughts. On another note, I’ll have to figure this signature out. I’d like to add a few things to that including the map of the states I’ve flown to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
18. You must have forgot I work for chase at avionics source. I’m very familiar with both EI and JPI. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
19. That’s the plan. She will be new/overhauled firewall forward Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
20. i was wondering the same things. think ill just overhaul it and call it good.
21. yes, i saw in another thread for the a3b6 conversion the author powdercoated the cooler. I was curious if you did the same was all
22. this would answer it better than i could.... https://www.oilcoolers.com/overhaul-process/
23. we have access to BK stuff. i was thinking of going that route, but the new BK230 is STCd as replacement only for the KAP150/200. I am almost certain the aerovue touch wont drive my autopilot (century 2000)
