  1. Hi all. In the middle of an engine install. Lasar supplied bracket 660117-000 to rig the governor on my new 390 on my 1990 J. Identical install to the 360-A3B6. Lasar said to mount the bracket that the 10 o’clock position viewing if engine from the back. We had to notch the bracket slightly to get the governor to fit. The 10 o’clock position makes sense, the oil filter cutout lines up nicely with the filter, BUT... the arm from the end of the governor cable will interfere with the removal of the oil filter. Anyone have any photos of their install using this bracket, or a tip on what they did? TIA
  2. Michael, the 390 is just about installed. I’ll let you know. PS, thanks for the tip on the strobes. They are all synced up. Added the Nav wire to the tail as well.
  3. it is! 430/530 doesnt compare to the IFD series. the one issue i had avidyne repaired within a 48 hour window with no issues. most avionics issues I've found are install issues.
  4. yes i am, thank you! Ill check and see if i have anything close for a tailbeacon. I appreciate the tag.
  5. im probably in.
  6. Good to know. I have new air form baffles as well that are powder coated, and look pretty. I’m hoping to keep them that way.
  7. I’m doing the exact same thing at the moment. Feels never ending. Lycoming has missed their projected completion date already. Moved out another week or two. No big deal since they already have my money, lol. let me know how you want me to pay you. Venmo or PayPal is fine
  8. sorry, i misunderstood. I'm not in a wicked rush, my engine isn't here yet. Will you be back out there any time soon?
  9. did you ever check the numbers on that probe? i do need it
  10. could you tell me what the rest of the numbers are? I need 3080-38 Q K11 mine appears to be in really good shape, but the center spins, I don't think it should
  11. i agree. Dan at Lasar sent me some pics of the original parts so i could see where the holes are.

  13. Can anyone shed some light on how they modified the factory air intake to fit the airforms baffle on a J? Mine appears to be riveted together to the factory baffles. There is RTV all over it that I’m trying to clean up, but I can’t really tell what what I have there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That should work. I’ll go grab the probe tomorrow and confirm. I’ll send you a PM tomorrow night
  15. Not yet. The dynon will be down the road once the autopilot is released. And that will be a primary replacement at that time. All of the old gauges will be removed at that time. For now just going to get by with the OEM CHT gauge and my JPI830. I have an engine install to finish, and and engine to break in before I worry about more avionics. That’s a next winter plan.
  16. That probe in my post is definitely the right probe. It got broken somehow. I suspect the a&p that fixed the faulty JPI gasket probe over tightened the little nut on the top. I am not changing the gauge, just making sure the OEM CHT gauge works is all. Lycomings STC will require it to be remarked. I haven’t got that far yet. I’m hoping just a placard saying the new limits will suffice. Attached is a photo from the install manual for your reading pleasure.
  17. Looking for a 880010-503. Lasar calls it a “universal CHT probe”. Plane is down for an engine upgrade, and my CHT probe had just failed. I have a JPI830, so I wasn’t too concerned, but it’s not a primary replacement, so my factory CHT really should work. The STC for the upgrade calls for remarking the factory gauge, and I know my IA is going to want it to work. The green will now start at 300F. Someone have one they would part with for a reasonable fee? No sense in buying a new one, I’ll be going with a dynon skyview HDX as soon as it’s approved for the autopilot, and I plan to do the engine monitor with the dynon. thanks, Bryan
  18. i had my 2000 repaired by them in august. it was a slow, painful process, full of unexpected, and uncommunicated delays.
  19. thanks for the heads up.... Nope, not me on the 530w. I had some 430w and a 430 non waas at the moment, but no 530. interesting they used my profile picture. all i can wonder is if they saw i frequently sell used garmins on Facebook, and looked me up here.
  20. Just a follow up. I quoted two places. Ended up going with the brown integrated firesleeve hoses from PHT. Thanks all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. They just quoted me about 1400. Definitely was a little more than I I expected, but I haven’t bought any in three years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Some of mine will be different. I’m moving from an A3B6D to an IO390 which uses the same hoses an the later model Mooney J models did that have the split mags, the IO360A3B6. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
