  1. I put all new cylinders on my C last October. Since then CHT’s bouncing off 450 on takeoff and climb out. Months of trouble shooting. Only minor improvements after doing all of the usual things. Sealed the dog house so tight you could bury an Egyptian king in there. Not much better. Then I had a starter fail. Pulled the old starter but the new one was a different shape so I had to fabricate a new front baffle. While I was in there I discovered that there was a significant air leak at the oil cooler to cowling dispite a new gasket. Fixed that and fabricated a better deflector baffle behind the oil cooler taking the oil cooler air to the left cowl flap- which is now rigged at 1.1 inches when CLOSED. Lastly, I reenforced the baffling where it fits int the lower channel of the cowl because I found two spots where it flexed enough to come out of the channel under high aerodynamic pressure. Test flight conditions- 92F and 3000 ft density altitude. I hit 404 on number 4 in a prolonged full power WOT climb at 120 mph to 3000 feet AGL. 71 percent power and approx. 10gph yielded the numbers you see on my JPI.
  2. JPI 830 installed on a C Mooney- Has anyone done it and if so, where did you mount the fuel flow transducer?
