Front seat back has been broken. Lesson learned - brief passengers not to lean on the back of the seat when entering/existing the airplane...

I am looking for possible repair (Southern California) or replacement.

    Few questions:

    1. Are all seats replaceable? Within which models/years?

    2. Thinking to replace the tubes for the headrest to make the pair of the headrest from RAV4 fit. Distance between the tubes is Ok, the tubes in my seats are too narrow.

    3. What glue is used to put the foam back?

    Thank you,

    Andrey

    Thanks John,
Actually I bought a parts mooney and want to convert to electric because my wife complains about reaching over and pumping the flaps when she flys. If it was just me I’d keep it hydraulic.

Speaking of converting. Does anyone have the drawings to convert hydraulic to electric? No joy on kit 940001-503 from Mooney, Lasar or Don Maxwell.
    TIA,
    Charlie

    Hello Charlie,

Could you please share your experience if you manage to buy part for the conversion?

  3. My recommendations would be:
    1. Aero-Performance Specialties (KCNO) - have done my annuals there since 2021.
    2. Chino Aviation (KCNO) - have done occasional maintenance on need basis.
    3. Maintenance One (KRAL) - they service Mooneys, but I am dealing with them on Civil Air Patrol side with lots of C172/C182/206 100hr and Annuals

Gonna try CAVU on RAL i have used foothill in the past i've done multiple annuals there and all in all they were ok did have one scary flight where i lost manifold pressure just after takeoff leaving annual the pressure hose wasn't tightened to make it even more interesting the plane was re-rigged (they did a great job here) the flight controls were set up differently and with an ipad mount on the yoke i couldn't get the deflection i needed to get the nose down for the final approach this coupled with no manifold pressure indication was interesting to say the least. This isn't the reason i wont go back.. They started the annual "tax" price went up 25% every year and the last annual i had there they made me overhaul the prop with less than 200 hours due to calendar time even though it was in great condition and had been taken completely apart inspected parts replaced and put back together by American Propeller just three years prior (not technically an overhaul) started to feel like if they couldn't run the bill up over 8k they didn't want the plane so they would find a way to run it up.

I recommend Maintenance One over CAVU. In my experience CAVU is way more expensive and longer wait times.

  5. Hello All,

I have the 1967 M20F. My aux fuel pump works so far but make high pitch noise. A&P suggested to start looking for options to overhaul or replace.

The current pump appears to be Duke's but with strange part number - 1499-31-1. Can't find it online.

Any suggestions on what would be the compatible option?

Images attached with the current assembly.

    Appreciate your help in advance!

Unfortunately, storing data costs too much some days….   :)

    Best regards,

I managed to install the kit today. After removing interior panels, the installation on the left side took me about 2 hours to get the ring in place. Right side was super easy, no brainer. Had to remove few screws from the windows on the left side to avoid extra pressure on glass. Used a rounded end of the hammer as a wide pry bar to gently depress the cage frame from the skin. Two flat screw drivers to give an initial way for the pry bar.

Will setup the interior panels after I find the replacement screws (the original screws are not looking good and some were missing or too small).
