  1. Might try Sigma Tek in Augusta, KS. 169CL Cluster Gauges (sigmatek.com)
  2. I looked at my plane with a mirror and flashlight through the flap actuator hole with the flaps down. Everything is the same as your picture except I don't have the three Fastners upper right in the pic. 1968 M20G S/N 680048 with vacuum step. I know planes with a fixed step are different in that area. Jeff
  3. That light shines down to illuminate the fuel valve.
  4. Easy to do. One twisted pair 22g wire. The number 2 radio is hooked up via ARINC 429 to the GAD29B, and a couple settings changes in the 430 and G5. You must remove the connections to the 106A to be legal. Can't display on two indicators.
  5. The Data is an effect, not a cause. That is something I have had to realize maintaining modern jets.
  6. I don't have electric pitch trim. My IAS climb, and altitude hold is near perfect. I don't miss it either. It is just three swipes on the wheel when I level off, and three swipes when I descend. The GSA 28 servo is weak for Mooney pitch trim so it is geared accordingly. Maybe the pitch trim is too slow and it is fighting the pitch servo, but what do I know. I don't know if you can disable electric trim for a flight, or at least put your hand on the wheel.
  7. It has the mounts for roll and pitch. The yaw servo would mount in the other hole, but the kit doesn't come with the components to hook up yaw. Yaw kit can be ordered separately along with trim kit if wanted. I am more than happy with the two servo setup in my M20G.
  8. I have a 2 servo GFC 500 bracket kit for sale that fits M20J and K with 8130's. The dealer ordered the wrong bracket kit for my M20G. I elected to keep this kit at the time because I owned a M20J as well. I have since sold the M20J and I have no need for this. I paid around $1900.00. I would like to get $1000.00 shipped. Jeff
  9. I've just done a lot of fuel tank work in the past 25 years. People make such a big deal about Mooney tanks. A reseal isn't complicated, but is time consuming. It is actually one thing in the maintenance manual and SB that is somewhat detailed. Cost me under $500. I would rather do a Mooney tank than re tape and put a bladder in a C-182. Worst fuel tank jobs I have done are Hawker, Westwind, and Sabreliner though.
  10. To answer the Question When I did mine myself I used 2 Gallons Polygone, Three quarts of CS3204 B2 and two 4oz tubes of CS3330 B2 for access panels. Also 2 Quarts CS 3600. This is per side. I also used a quart of Alodine. Buy a Sealant gun and tubes/tips from Business aircraft consumables to do the filet application. I do Quarts and fill my own tubes because I have had too many bad premade tube kits. I made up about 50 plastic scrapers so I always had a sharp one. You will more than likely find most of the captive nutplates blown out and needing replacing from past maintainers putting screws in with sealant in the hole. Put on some peaceful music, and have band aids within reach!
  11. If you retracted the gear with the fairing like that check the retraction tubes in the belly, and check rigging/preload. I have personally seen a bent retraction tube from this same scenario.
  12. Do not buy the ACS harness from Aircraft Spruce. I have bought two, and thrown both in the trash after headaches. They are also not for certified aircraft. Get the Maggie.
  13. It might be just the picture angle, but your spinner looks like a larger diameter than stock to me.
  14. I finally found on mine that the conductor springs were not long enough on my new slick style harness cap. look for burning where springs contact SIM. Maggie harness fixed my problem.
  15. I would like to see a poll for the people that voted for the M20G. Have they actually flown the plane, or just relaying what they heard on the interwebs and CNN...? The M20G is is a C model with legroom. That's all it is. It is not an F with 180hp. I have owned C,G,J models. I currently have a 1968 G model my wife has named Warren G because it is a G and has Gold stripes. I love the airplane, and costs are much less than the M20J I had. My plane has most speed mods and true airspeed is usually 150 kts at 8500'. The O-360 A1D is a bulletproof engine with better parts availability. My point is everybody calls it a lower hp M20F, While it is actually a variation of the M20C (Longer cabin). Same wing, fuel tanks, and FW forward. That changes how you look at it compared to the F in my opinion. Jeff B
  16. I have bought two ACS harnesses in the past, and they are both in the trash. The one I bought for the Surefly in my mooney misfired badly. I took the mag cap back off and saw burning on the springs. The springs were 3/16 shorter than the slick harness springs, and were barely making contact. Check this out on yours, I'm curious. Jeff
  17. Intake/Exhaust leak is what I guess. Also check the inner cylinder baffle on the bottom. It can move, or be installed incorrect. Make sure tie rods are intact pulling #4 rear baffle to cylinder head. I suggest using fixed timing on the surefly with the carburated A1D, and the pos plenum. Jeff
  18. Derik at Air Capital NDI in Wichita, KS is who I use. They will come to your airplane at a surrounding airport. Pop the spinner off, and just takes a few minutes. I need mine done, and can think of a couple others. Maybe we could get a group deal? Bart? Jeff B
  19. Cyril, I have a working NAV 122 I just removed from my Monney. PM if interested. Jeff
  20. Buffer material so the lights, an speaker don"t short out on the aluminum.
  21. If you don't want to redo it anytime soon, you need to pull the panel and inspect the sealant on it. It likely has the domed nutplates blown out because sealant got into the nutplate on last installation. I would use a slower, thinned B2 sealant so the bubbles will work out. You should use CS 3330 for the panels so they can be removed in the future without damage. I use a a 3 oz tube, or a syringe and make a bead around the panel, and use a plastic sealer roller to spread it out. This method keeps the sealant out of the nutplates. Its all in the Maintenance manual too. Jeff
  22. I ordered mine from Spruce the night before the sale started, and saw the 15% sale the next morning. I called, and they only gave me 10% back but I am happy because it was in my hands in two days with free shipping!
  23. I sent in my EDM 700 to JPI for repair. They got it four days before they closed down. I called three different times before they shut down, and was put on never ending hold by the receptionist each time. I have no idea when, or if I will ever get it back. Jeff
  24. I have a G model with carburetor. This is what I am doing next time I need a boot. I am an IA, and do have experience on many types of planes. The manufactures that hook the engine to the cowling with a flex duct all have the same problem. Why just keep doing the same thing? I am going to be doing a field approval, and making the duct out of aluminum. The filter will be mounted solid to the airbox, and the cowl will be slightly modified to allow the filter to move behind the trim plate of the cowl. Who knows, maybe I will do an STC. Jeff
  25. I found one here on mooneyspace that is in pretty good shape. Jump on that one Vorlon1! Texas air salvage has one, but they tried to take advantage of the situation and quoted me something outrageous for a used one with a couple holes.
