  1. Just finished installing my overhauled engine. I have a question about RPM and MAP while taking off. I used to see about 2650 at 40" on takeoff. Now I see 2700+ at about 35" on takeoff from sea level to about 400'. Is my new limit now 2700 on the prop instead of the 40" on the MAP? Is there an adjustment I should have looked at. Just want to get this thing right. Thank you in advance.
  2. Thank you so much for this! I was born in Grafton, if you are ever down in the NC area I owe you a beer or three. Thanks again.
  3. Anyone have any insight on where I can purchase some new mounting bolts(2ea.) for a RayJay turbo on a 1979 M20K.
  4. Ok both my oil pressure gauges work on the EDM and the instrument cluster. The single wire at the end of the sensor had been pulled out at sometime and i cant find it anymore so maybe it was just removed with the installation of the EDM. Thank you all for the help.
  5. Does anyone here by chance have the overhaul manual for a TSIO 360 engine on digits. I would be extremely grateful.
  6. Definitely appreciate the responses. I have a JPI 711 installed on the airplane and all works like it should. Maybe when the JPI was installed there was a different pressure sensor installed at a different location. It does make sense to me that this could be some sort of temp sensor because it is installed on the hottest part of engine (turbo). Ill keep researching but I really appreciate the feedback.
  7. dropped my exhaust on my M20k 1979 and saw this little gem dangling with no broken wire in sight. The attached line is an oil line that goes to the turbo. Looks like some sort of pressure switch but coming off the turbo seems weird to me. Please help......this is going to bother me, I don’t like dangling things on an airplane.
  8. Wow all this info definitely helps. I have been studying the JPI700 that is in it and monitoring the EGT’s like a hawk though I really haven’t been to keen on the power settings just yet. I have been using the LOP function on it and it seems to keep the temps manageable
  9. Thank you so much for the info and I would very much like to have the cruise charts and any other pertinent information if you dont mind sending them to scottskaug@gmail.com. I am coming from the Cessna world with a little time in a PA24 and M20E. The M20E sold me on Mooneys. I didnt get a great hand off from the sellers agent so i an relegated to this thread and figuring it out for myself. I appreciate the feedback.
  10. New Mooney owner and first time posting to the thread. I just purchased a 1979 M20K 231 and not gonna lie I am a bit overwhelmed flying it. It is equipped with an intercooler and Merlin wastegate but I am having a hard time finding the right charts that accurately depict the upgrades to the engine. I will gladly accept any advice that anyone can provide with both engine management and airplane flying techniques. Thanks again and I am a very proud Mooney owner!
