  1. That looks really really good! Do you by any chance have an autocad file for those panels? I would love to do something like that to my 1970.. Thank you in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Unfortunately trying to configure a u it without being there it a bit difficult. I work for a avionics shop and sometimes we use teamviewer to remotely configure equipment when we send guys on the road and they get stuck on something.. I could probably try to help you that way.. Unless you live close to central Florida. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Im getting ready to install a GMA345, GNS430W, Leave existing SL-30 and install a Trig TT31 transponder. Im also resealing the left tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Are you talking about the overlays? Similar to those in the pictures? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Are you looking at doing something specific with the panel? Why not buy this? https://vantageassoc.com/lh-instr-panel-airplanes-mooney-m20-1955-m20-1002-thru-1200-k820244-005.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It hard to tell from the picture but more than likely it 18AWG.. Make sure to use good splices other wise it could add resistance and give you an erroneous reading. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. You welcome.. I don’t know what happen to what i wrote before the link but any how. When i installed the spin on adapter on my mooney i removed the screen housing and screen, removed the temperature probe and the thermostatic valve. Installed the temp probe and thermostat valve on the housing, removed the old gasket installed new gasket for the adapter assembly..... Advice your A&P about being careful with the LH lower stud i’ve seen a few guys strip those when installing the oil filter housing adapter.. Good luck with everything.. 12. My landing gear started acting like you described. It would work fine and then it would act up till one day it wouldn’t come down at all. I used the emergency system to get it down. I removed the belly panel and began troubleshooting. Long story short the down relay was full of oil. They are very simple to clean just remove the two little nuts holding the cover, onces remove there amor but that holds the contacts but be careful when removing the contacts there spacers and a tiny spring in there make sure not to lose those.. I clean mine with contact cleaner then used scotch Brite on the contacts. Put everything back together and i haven’t had any issues again.. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes this is a legal thing to do, just get yourself a few male and female D sub connectors and do a one to one harness... That being said since you are dealing with temperature probes i would contact JPI and get their opinion on it, specially on what type of wire to use. You might have to get chromel alumel wire for the extension except for power and grounds.. The note below is from the installation manual. NOTE: Unlike most other EGT & CHT installations the probe wire length is not critical and should be trimmed to any length as required for a clean installation. Do not extend the thermocouple wire with copper wire. Hope this is helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Onces i get my mooney going again i will contact you, would like to do som flying around florida.. If you find yourself in the sanford area let me know.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Good deal man! Are going to be base at the SE or SW ramp? Anyhow let me know i’ve been looking for people to go flying around with.. Im part of OSFC they have a few airplane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. By the looks of this diagram it looks likes the oil goes from the sump to the pump, from the pump if the temperature is below 180° F some will flow trough the oil cooler and the other directly to the filter. Onces the temperature raises above 180°F and the vernatherm closes all oil is forced trough the cooler then the filter and finally the engine.. This is my understanding of the system i could be wrong... Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hello everyone, Just wondering if there are any Mooney owner in here base at KSFB? I recently move my Mooney to SFB and would like to meet some fellow Mooney owner.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Check with your A&P but i replaced mine with this one https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/a7401.php?clickkey=4047 if the outer sleeve is good i would pull the cable out from the cockpit and slide the new cable into the existing sleeve. Here’s is the bulkhead clamps as well. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/bowdenclamp.php?clickkey=32140 Hopes this helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Exactly... Just because it not in the MM doesn’t mean it imposible to do or fix. I think as long as it doesn’t affect weight, balance, structural strength, performance, powerplant operation, flight characteristics and airworthiness the feds are happy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I looked at rheostats online but i just wanted a simple on and off switch, i don’t fly at night very often but it nice to have some sort of light in the cockpit for those dark afternoons. After some research i figure a switch was the most reliable and maintenance free option.. As far as sign off i’m an A&P and i consider this to be a minor alteration, meaning a logbook entry will suffice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yesss!! Should be way more reliable now.. Im going to draw what i did and post it.. Might help someone else down the road one day. It really nice to have cockpit lights again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Well i’m happy to say i have cockpit lights again. Got rid of all the monkey motion goin on in the control box, replaced the rheostat with a SPDT switch and moved all the diode for the warning lights down by the connector. Now i’m thinking about LED bulbs for the map lights and theDome light.. Anyone know where I can find LED replacement for the Map lights and Dome light?? Diodes inside the F4 tape.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks for the heads up.. I was looking at the drawing earlier and decided to get rid of the rheostat all together and replace it with a SPST switch... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I thought about it but it was sent to me with some writing saying it was okay to share but not to post and i would like to respect that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
