  1. I should have that drawing at home. The only problem is I am overseas at work until mid June. If you haven't had any luck by then, I can hook you up.
  2. Hi there @Alan Fox, from my question before, do you happen to have the complete GPU power system to install into an F model? Thanks
  3. Does it happen to have the hardware to plug in a GPU for starting? I have none of that right now so I would be interested in all the parts including the spring loaded access door. Thanks
  4. Would love to grab these from you. How much for your time and effort to ship to Alabama 36352 zip code?
  5. I have never been a fan of the cotter pin solution. Especially since I have had an incident before where the seat went back past it and I couldn't move it back forward without taking it apart. This happed on the ground of course while strapping in and not during flight. Was kind of embarrassing in front of my passengers. The McFarlane seat stop kits you guys use, are they an easy fit on our Mooney or do we need to tweak anything? I am thinking of buying a few. With as much as they cost, are you just doing one rail per seat with them or both rails? Thanks
  6. I am not about to start up the great bladder vs sealant debate, but I wanted to pass along something I got from Griggs up in PA. After my install at an MSC, I started to develop some leaks when the bladders were filled to the top. Rather than just have anybody look at them, I took them back to the people that produce the bladders so I could get the best care possible. The people up at Griggs were great and the job went pretty quick finding the fittings that came loose and were causing my leaks. They also identified a couple issues from the original install and corrected them. One thing I was not expecting was they made a custom fuel stick for my plane including having my tail number stamped into the metal. I make no guarantees so use this information at your own risk. My plane is a 1968 F with the 64 gallon bladders installed. Here are the measurements of the fuel stick they made for me. If anyone else with bladders was wanting to make a fuel stick, this could be a good starting point. Enjoy
  7. In the wee hours of the night I was able to find a couple other threads showing how people set this up.
  8. Actually, that may be a somewhat easy answer. Last year I finally ditched my vacuum system, including standby vacuum. I guess I need to check all that old plumbing (once I find it) to see if that would be an easy place to tap into.
  9. Old topic but time to revisit it. I had a shop install a Surefly to replace the left mag on my 1968 M20F. I realized that they installed it in the "fixed" timing mode. I contacted the shop again and the shop manager spoke to the mechanic that actually did the work. He set up as fixed timing because he didn't see an easy way to tap into the manifold pressure just took the easy route. The shop manager has apologized and I will be bringing the plane back to them later in the month to get it fixed. Is anyone able to share the way they tapped into the MP and even better would be actual part numbers if you have them. Thanks
  10. One thing I would like to see changed because it just drives me nuts is the rules for software updates. As pilots we can load databases on a USB thumb drive and be trusted to update our GPS units. For some reason that escapes me, I can't load a software update without an A&P sign-off. Literally all you do is put the drive in the GPS, press the button to install new software, and then wait 30 minutes until it either says "update complete" or "update failed". Please if the FAA is listening, add software updates to the list of approved pilot maintenance.
  11. I feel your pain. I had 2 AV-30'S installed at a shop and everything powered up and tested great. The airspeed and altitude on the AV-30'S are not primary so during my takeoff roll my scan was mainly engine instruments and airspeed. Once flying i realized I had no airspeed on the AV-30'S and the altitude was way low. Come to find out, they swapped the pitot and static lines. Having said that, I just don't ever see the FAA giving us the same privilege the experimental community has when it comes to maintenance.
  12. I know it says F and J models, but if you can use these at all it will certainly help with the overall cost.
