  1. I talked to him on the phone, seems to be an upstanding guy.
  2. I called a couple of the shops. glehman@advancedaircraft.net (Greg) in Troutdale, Or quoted me $7,000 for both tanks to be resealed. I didn't ask if he had space. I did call Weep No More and I have a reservation Dec.29th. Quite a ways off but I'm on the cancellation list. He quoted me 5,500 per tank and about 10 days to 2 weeks to fix. My tanks aren't weeping very much at all and it may just be a quick patch which I was quoted 2,000 for both tanks. I am selling the plane so may just keep the reservation and let the next buyer decide what to do. You can see it on Trade a plane. M20M Bravo.
  3. There's always some smart a$$, who has to reply.
  4. Did they just patch it or a total reseal? How much did it run you? Are you satisfied with the job? Pete
  5. That sounds like a blast. Only problem I would see with that is if the clouds kept getting lower and lower. Kind of like flying up a canyon, hoping there is an opening at the other end.
  6. I flew for the airlines for 36 years, and saw those from a different altitude than you probably did. But had many a flight going into PDX and also the departure out of SEA going to DEN where we told the controller we would provide our own terrain separation through 16K. Got to do some passes by Mt. Ranier where we could see the trails up the sides. Pretty cool. Im looking forward to the "low level" flying. Been flying a Cirrus for a guy but he sold it. So now onto my own plane to come and go when I want. Thanks for all the input.
  7. Great, thanks!! Always looking for good places to eat..... I've never flown up the gorge but did do that at Lake Powell. 100' off the water. Pretty cool
  8. I've seen that hill, many times as I passed over going into PDX. Got a couple of hundred landing into PDX.
  9. That's good news! Greg did tell me that it would probably only need spot repair, but he would know until he looked at it. Chance for a nice cross country.
  10. Thanks, I was just trying to get a feel for the cost. I'll have to do a little more research on it. I appreciate everyones input.
  11. Thanks, he seemed to steer me in the right direction. Not trying to get the biggest job, i.e. money. Doing only what was needed.

  13. I talked to Greg at Advance Aircraft in Troutdale, OR (503) 465 2298 or you can email him, he's pretty good at getting back to you with 24 hrs. glehman@advancedaircraft.net. Just east of Portland. His was not a complete strip and seal. He told me since the tanks were done 4 and 10 years ago respectively, he would just locate the leak and repair them for the 2K and I should get another 4 or 5 years out of that. Sorry, didn't mean to mislead you into thinking it was a complete reseal. The 14K was a complete reseal. Pete
  14. Hank, Thanks, I did talk to them. They have a good reputation, but are very expensive. They were the ones who quoted me 14K
  15. Thanks, Been looking at the "big 4" and prices are all over the place. 2K up to 14K with the plane down for at least 4 weeks.
  16. Thanks, I had heard there was one in Troutdale, but didn't know the name of the business. Pete
  17. I'm looking for a place to get a tank resealed on my M20M Bravo. Any good places out west to have it done?
  18. Is that a user name? Can you post a link to the list? Thanks
  19. I've called them. Most of their stuff is under contract.
  20. Thats what checklists are for. Years ago as a copilot on a DC-10 we did T & G's in Stockton. (Before certified simulators). Use a checklist and you'll be fine.
  21. The link show the airplane is in Johannesburg.
  22. In addition to the deer strike in 2013, the FAA says there was a gear up landing short of the runway in 1984. Were you the owner then?
