  1. Hi all, I am still in the process of trying to get the M20C (22Q) to a PPI at Top Gun. Issue is Top Gun has a three week waiting period, so Mark wanted to make part of the deposit non-refundable. I agreed to make 1000 dollars of it non-refundable if we could bring a guy in to boroscope the engine prior to the PPI. Any recommendations for a solid dude in the area to accomplish this? If so could you please message me their contact info. Thanks Phil
  2. Would love to come check out the L39 sometime... I can hook you up with a mobile ride for the U-2 but I'm guessing you've probably been if you're an Air Force guy in Roseville
  3. Thank you all for the advice. I've been away for business the last few days. I am ready to put in an offer, so we will see how it goes
  4. So I talked to Top Gun today and apparently Mark flies planes down to them all the time for pre-buys. Makes me wonder what's going on here.
  5. I think we are comfortable up to around 50K if we could get a usable GPS installed with it...What other things would you recommend as must haves...I absolutely want an IFR vehicle to explore the west. I currently fly 1965 T-38s around that only have a TACAN in IFR so maybe I'm not expecting enough for the money...lol
  6. I read all of the thread on Skywagons. Thank you guys for steering me onto that thread. Mark struck me and my wife as being very much in the business of getting planes sold. (started right up front with telling us the plane was in high demand. We do really like the plane but I think she and I are both in agreement that it needs to go to Top Gun or Lasar for the pre buy or it will be a no-go. Again I thank you all so much for your input and advice. I've been flying military for almost 13 years but getting into this on my own dime is terrifying/exhilarating. I've literally learned so much in the process though I am feeling less and less anxious for when the right plane does come along.
  7. Yeah I actually took the photo when I had it coupled to autopilot. Avionics are a little old but serviceable. Was gonna get a Garmin 430 put in it.. More kind of wondering about the avionics for the price.
  8. Great idea knocking out an annual with the PPI. The plane is at a company that resells planes. I have attached a link to it here and would appreciate positive and negative feedback. I am hoping to fly it in a couple of weeks and would be ready to put a refundable hold on it prior to the PPI and ready to move forward with the sale if the PPI comes back satisfactorily. I have a hangar lined up and am working on insurance quotes.
  9. Thank you for all the tips. I will have to see if they will allow it to go to LASAR or Top Gun. I will see if they have a mechanic that will be able to travel
  10. It's about three hours away. Not sure if they'll travel. This is my first GA purchase and I'm definietly nervous and trying to do it right.
  11. I am looking for a great mechanic that would be willing to do a good pre-buy inspection on a 1965 Mooney M20C in Placerville, CA.
