So i have decided to purchase a Garmin GTX 33 thats been recently upgraded with the latest software to allow adsb out (ES). Most of the form 8130’s say the installer must install latest operating software from the Garmin dealer rescource center. Im guessing there is a program you downlod from the rescource center along with the correct operating software and install via laptop and usb to the RS232 pins. The install manual eludes to all this. Only problem is my AP doesnt have the program nor does an avionics tech i work with. Does anyone here have the ability to do this or able to send me this program and software? If not, can you recommend a shop i can send it to? You can send me a private message if you like. Thanks!

Can someone explain to me what the demod level adjustment screw actually does? I have a tkm mx12. I know i can push the VT button and use the VO screw to center the needle but what does the demod level adjust? How do you know if it needs either turned up to backed off? I think it adjusts the vrms to cdi but not clear on that.

Not to hijack a thread but not sure how to create a new post. i had a recent annual done and it was pretty expensive. I purchased a garmin 340, kx155 with glideslope and another kx 155 loc only with the intension of installing these after annual but cant afford to now. I wired the three together with new molex and garmin pins. Its pre wired for install but you may want to do another continuity check. Comes with a KI209 and 208 cdi’s as well. $4500 with 8130 and yellow tags.
