  1. So lovely. If you care to share with her, please let her know I am sorry for her loss.
  2. Done, thanks! You'll make her (and then my) day! I met her at the opening of the Memphis Belle exhibit in Dayton in 2019. Despite many years between us we struck up a fast friendship!
  3. I know of a lady who might enjoy them and would then pass them on to me. She studied the History of Aviation in England while her husband was in the service. She is also a pilot herself. I should add she was in the service herself. Didn't mean to dismiss that.
  4. At mooney.com this is all I get:
  5. I came to comment so that if the photo appears, I get to see it - sounds beautiful!
  6. I asked a friend to provide a report on the bikes he's used (and new ones he recently purchased). Here is his PIREP: We use the Dahon Mariner D8 bikes (There are other variations of the D8). They were purchased and set up by Performance Bicycle in Columbus, OH. The shifting is precise using finger levers and the brakes are great. The folding is ingenuous. They are clearly superior to the D7. We separately purchased carrying bags for them. Both are carried in the back seat of our C172. A rope is used around the seat and the bikes to ensure they stay in place during flight. We have used previous models of the Dahon Mariner, the D7. One had lever shifting while the other had twist grip shifting. They are fractionally smaller when folded, allowing one to pass through the C172 baggage door. The later D8 model is a tiny bit larger such that they can not be placed in the baggage area. Assembly of the D7 pedals can require a wrench while the D8 includes a simple, but ingenious folding arrangement. https://usa.dahon.com/bikes/mariner-d8-brushed/ https://www.performancebike.com/
  7. I'll be in the right seat far more than the left, and I'd like to be comfortable landing, from that seat, in an emergency. I think her wanting to learn from there is perfectly reasonable.
  8. Interested to see other responses too.
  9. @autopatch and I were at KSGH and we use Dave Holden @ KMRT - SkyVista Aviation- he’s a Mooney owner and specializes in them. I believe he’s on this board but I am not sure. He was there for us when we needed him! Excellent guy!
  10. I don't have anything useful to add, but I want to be sure I don't miss any comments of someone who might - this is very cool. I hope someday to have my Grandpa's A&P license.
  11. Congratulations on a job well done! From one Mooney wife to another, tell her "Well done" as well. However, I did find it funny to "cross off" an off-field landing from a list of things to do - some sort of comic relief was necessary. If anything, I know we did it once and he could do it again if necessary. Enjoy the wedding festivities!
  12. Sounds like a good landing - bonus points for being inside the fence - I know what an ordeal it can be to be outside the fence.
