  1. Found it... Thank you!
  2. Did a search in all content and did not have anything come up... is there a sort of “car fax” for aircraft?
  3. Thanks Mike... I kind of assumed the older date of the article would come into play and I appreciate your feedback. I am heavily leaning towards the purchase of this aircraft (pending a pre-purchase inspection by a mechanic). Thanks again!
  4. Yup... It is... just wanted to see if anyone has any direct experience with it. According to that AOPA article and a few others, the jury was still out on whether the conversion actually resulted in fewer occurring and less expensive maintenance needs.
  5. Hello All, I am considering purchasing a 1994 Mooney M20M Bravo. I haven't had the aircraft looked at yet but have been doing a good amount of research and reading reading about some of the early versions of this plane and the heat problems leading to top-end work being required in as little as (every)400 hours. It appears that Mooney resolved the issue with its "wet-head" conversion thereby increasing the time between maintenance. Anyone have any direct experience or feedback? The main article I am referencing is from an AOPA article written back in 1998: https://www.aopa.org/go-fly/aircraft-and-ownership/aircraft-fact-sheets/mooney-bravo Look forward to the feedback!
  6. Thanks Andy, I appreciate your help here. How far north are you from ARB? DO you know the name of the MooneySpace member here at ARB?
  7. To answer questions: Speed vs efficiency I think would be the first topic to tackle... I fly out of ARB Not too much lake-effect on this side of the state... The western side along Lake Michigan gets pounded most winters though. I am 6'4, 230.
  8. Hello All, My name is James and I just recently finished my Private and am working on my Instrument Rating. In the meantime, I am in the market for a plane... the more I read about Mooneys (both old and new) the more I like what I am reading. However, I have not yet been up in one. I am looking for someone in Southeast Michigan who would be willing to take me for a ride and let me have a hand at the controls sometime. I'm happy to pay for fuel... just want to make sure its a plane I like flying before I spend the money on buying one. Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from everyone. James
