  1. He wasn’t trapped at all. Unfortunately the cockpit disintegrated. If you will go back and look at the video you’ll notice it isn’t attached to the airplane. The wings are inverted in the water and facing toward the tail which means everything else was detached. I also heard they found Roy closer to shore.
  2. I attended the Houston Tracon tour a couple of months ago and it was fascinating! This is the contact info for the gentleman that led the tour. I also have his card at home so if you need an email address then let me know and I'll track it down for you. I believe he is their longest tenured guy and will surely point you in the right direction. Very knowledgeable and nice guy. 3. Oddly enough, that tiny little airport in the middle of nowhere is where I took my PP oral and earned my ticket!
  4. Also, that looks like the left wing laying just above the bulkhead near the water.
  5. I’m guessing he turned right, lost power and tried to turn back. If the gear isn’t hanging out then the dude may have thought that strip of water was his best shot and had too much speed.
  6. I personally have never seen one like this. Incredible panel and paint! The engine has some time on it but impressive nonetheless. They certainly are proud of it. https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/21352509/1966-mooney-m20e-super-21
  7. There are whirly birds covering the whole city right now. Traffic at KCXO is intense too.
  8. Please tell him to keep it up! Thank you guys for allowing me to live through your experiences!
  9. First of all I have no affiliation with these guys but I've watched a few videos from MrAviation101 on youtube and they are all very interesting. This particular one is one of the coolest I've seen period. It's really well done and makes me regret never having been to Oshkosh. Correct me if I'm wrong but it also looks like it includes a fellow Mooneyspacer( @Supercop0184)with a great ending to the vid. Well done sir. Take some time and enjoy this one folks.
  10. Be careful if traveling to see this eclipse folks. There aren't many details on this yet but sad to hear. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/dead-small-plane-crash-oregon-eclipse-viewing-site-49315555
  11. Speaking of which, my goodness... https://www.instagram.com/flywitheva/?hl=en
  12. This is exactly what I was thinking. But it should never have to come to that. I think "stompers" just need to act like adults. Period. I enjoy reading the background and thoughts from everyone along with the feedback from the seller. That's what helps me decide. Otherwise this forum is just another Trade-a-plane. I've said this before but I plan on buying a plane next year when my significant other is out of school. I was leaning heavily on a purchase from this site because of the in-depth info provided. ...Just thoughts from a potential buyer...
