  1. @Pinecone, I'm afraid I can't blame my handwriting on the Pencil, screen or anything else. I picked up a I pad mini 6 about1.5 mo ago, hitch hike it off my i phone for service, as you mentioned, working great. My 3rd mini. I have it mounted on the yoke column, centered on the yoke.
  2. I'll second that... I also have to force feed H2o otherwise I'll feel dehydrated post flight. I also bring along backup O2.
  3. My hats off for Great research for 1980 Mooney !! ;-)
  4. I waited 12 mo ans spent $87K on an aF1B "Certified 0 Time" O/H. That was delivered Jan of this year. We had numerous supply issues, and it seems that not many people are choosing to go into the "hands on" vocations, ie mill operators, had to wayt quite a while to get my case line bored. Now I'm hearing of another Lycoming cylinder shortage, Not Good!!
  5. I've read that aviation / med O2 has a higher H20 content that industrial 02. Whether thats true or not I can not say.
  6. Here's a CON for under insuring hull value. I was extremely upset upon turning the magic age of 70 to find my insurance had skyrocketed. Having flown 38 yrs w/o and incident, including 20 exclusively Mooney, I figured what the heck and reduced my hull to approx 1/2 actual value. Well, 2+ yrs ago I did a gear up, and after all was said and done, I ended up contributing a very substantial amount to its reconstruction. So . . . under insure with a great deal of caution. wishing CAVU to all
  7. Wishing you many years of happy flying. PS: Enjoy the euphoria of the first few months of ownership !! ;-)
  8. I flew a 68' C for about 15 years and 1500 hrs. IMHO I would leave cowl flaps closed on descent through final to my exit from the runway. Then open for taxi parking /cool down. (This would avoid any over cooling on descent)
  9. Perhaps glue it back together, get it scanned, and then 3d printed in a high temp plastic???
  10. I'm on my 3rd Basic Med, and have not had a prostate exam. Had them from the urologist, but not for the Basic MED
  11. I second all good references for Jimmy Garrison. I bought my Bravo from him in 2018, and have nothing bt good things to say about him. Had an issue with the aircraft 2 yrs after purchase, and thanks to a photo, Jimmy stood on it and helped me out 110%. He is an awesome guy and I would not hesitate to purchase another airplane from him. David Page N9170R
  12. Didn't see previous post, I'm back in the air, a long repair. Thanks to all !!
  13. There is a great avionics shop at KRNM (Ramona)
  14. Over my 24 years of owning Mooney's, I've had a door pop on a Model C & a K. No way to close them. Best advice, "Keep Calm and Carry On", continue to closest airport, land and close securely.
  15. Looks like a nice piece of equipment. Have you had a chance to try it out on a wet apron?
  16. I've had my "Sidewinder" for about 5 yrs. Had to get a repl battery, but IMHO it is the best thing since sliced bread.
  17. This is heart warming to see this story begin. Please keep the photos of progress coming.
  18. Suggestion - moisten, apply "Saran" wrap to keep moistened for a period of time, works well
  19. Thanks Lancecasper YES! That is the one, their work was impeccable, I highly recommend them.
  20. Ive read that Mike Bush runs Phillips X/C. And this from Sportys Cam Guard Q/A Q: Can camguard be used with Phillips 66 X/C Victory oil that has the lycoming LW16702 additive in it? Yes, it can be used with Phillips 66, however, since the Phillips already has an additive, the benefits of Camguard may be reduced.
