  4. Thanks for your response. Is the inverter located in the avionics bay? Is it a box or something in the overhead switch panel. (Looking for a part number in my IPC) I need to figure out if it is the Elctroluminescence panel or the inverter.
  5. Hoping you are still online but unsure based on your avatar. Did you (or anyone) ever figure out how to change the light inside the Exterior Lights Overhead Switch? I looked up the part-number on Lasar to my dismay: https://lasar.com/switches/overhead-switch-panel-150085-005?rq=150085 $404.29 (ouch) Hoping there is a bulb in there to change that cost significantly less. Going to check power to the input wire first.
  6. I’d get in the list now for the MAX upgrade. It should be an easy upgrade of you have the 1000 Pro today. You might consider just replacing your cluster today with the 900 without panel mods then do the total panel recut when you decide on the GFC 500 upgrade. Its gonna cost more to do the phases so my above plan could get you the quickest bang for the buck, now.
  7. I think the stall strips were installed at the factory custom to every Mooney that came off the line. I have also heard of planes where the strips were removed and and not installed back in the same spot after paint which caused the plane to stall differently than before.
  8. 100% agree. I just completed my first annual with them, too, and headed back in another month for upgrades at his shop. Having said that, I had a small wierd panel lights problem that JD looked at during annual and we could not figure it out so he suggested I contact Don. Called Don on Monday, he told me what part to remove and send to him and now it is fixed headed back to me.
  9. I had GAMI install the tuned injectors in my TSIO-360 and just the "standard" set got my spread from 0.7 - 0.8gph down to .4-.5. This was "good enough" but since I flew-in for the day to have them installed, they pulled one of them out and got the outlier to bring back in to get the spread down more.
  10. He is saying, with a G5, you can legally remove the Turn Coordinator which leaves you an empty spot to re-locate your 258 AI.
  11. You are correct, ATT, not roll based. He can replace his DG with a G5-HSI but will not be able to remove the 258 AI and still have a functional autopilot. I have a feeling that Garmin could come out with a (new) adapter for the G5-ATI in the future. They have the technology, it just probably a market decision now for sell GFC500s.
  12. The KAP 150 is ATT Based and that is coming from your ATI, which you wil not be able to lose with G5s at this time.
  13. Your autopilot is Roll ATT based and will need your (legacy) Attitude indicator. The only glass (today) that you can remove the ATI is the G500 or the Aspen, both with a converter - extra $$. (GAD43 or EA100) Yes, a G5 can give you GPSS but that is it.

  16. Sorry to revive an old thread, but without calling SiriusXM and get on their spam list, what is the best rate you are paying for XM Aviation Weather and Audio? I am considering adding a (legacy) SXAR1 or a GDL 51/52 in my plane. Today I used music on my phone Bluetooth'd to my audio panel for music and have FIS-B weather + Strikefinder. Just trying to figure out if the monthly subscription is worth it to me.

  18. I have a couple of different style switches setup today for my inflateable door seal. I am going thru a panel re-do, I will PM you for a couple of generic white switches.
  19. I wonder if it’s a display issue because of the portrait mode. I have seen different data based on orientation. I would still think the scrolling / alternating might give you some summary info.
  20. I was in your situation this time last year. I went to the San Marcos (TX Wing) formation training last year as a totally new person to flying formation but found it is very safe and structured. Like @gsxrpilot, that feeling landing on Rwy 36 last year for the first time was AMAZING; will be back this year. Glad I did it with the Caravan because watching the Fisk Arrivals come in with a beer in-hand, lawnchair next to my plane and a portable radio was "entertaining." Can't wait for the upcoming event in just over a month.
  21. Dang it, must have waited to late. Redoing my panel and adding a EDM 930 and was hoping to put a Guardian in but the code does not work today.

  24. I have used them as they were just up the road from my here in AR. Phemenonal service and excellent communication. In fact, my newly re-built Ki256 is being removed in about 4 weeks for complete glass replacement and will see all my components at that time. Let me know if you are looking for something, all my equipment is working great now that the Ki256 was rebuilt two months ago.
