  1. Hey, Hector, I responded to you privately, but it looks like you haven't seen my message? Sorry I wasn't able to get to your hangar last Saturday, but I'm currently planning on dropping by the airport this coming Saturday…
  2. I just moved to JAX in July, and just got my 69C moved here (to KHEG) the other day (had it down for an overhaul when I moved). Now I need to get recommendations for a shop to do my annual and an avionics guy to do my pitot/static check…and then recommendations for a local instructor I can have do my IPC. And, of course, there's the most important thing: developing connections with all the other Mooney owners in the area :)
  3. I perhaps should have been more clear: the previous owner heavily modified the panel. I do have two dimmers, but one is for the engine gauges (internally lighted, EI gauges if I recall), and one is for electroluminiscent strips above all the steam gauges. There is also a separate switch for those, and that one is clearly not in series with the nav lights. I don't have an additional dimmer on the panel or in the overhead. That said, I did not try adjusting the dimmers while I had the meter on the sockets. There was no light bulb, no torpedo, nothing; just this socket connected to a ball joint, that in turn was screwed directly in to a bracket that was attached to the overhead panel. What I'd like to do is track down something that'll fit that socket, so I can attach it when I put the interior back in; alternatively, if that's not possible, I'd like to find out now so I can investigate how to replace it with something more modern that'll do the same job but be LED. Also, for the record, the wires for these come directly out of the panel and don't go through any rheostat ; one ground wire attaches the bracket directly to the airplane, and two more wires run into the center of each of the two sockets. Also for the record: when mounted, the sockets aim out the left and right sides of the plane, not forward, and I do not have a piece that attaches to them; no torpedo or anything like that was included when I purchased the airplane 3 years ago.
  4. I'm having the interior of my 1969 M20C redone by AeroComfort (since I happen to live in San Antonio), and doing the removal and reinstallation myself to save a few bucks. While I have the interior out, I thought I'd try to track down two connectors that were in the overhead that appear to be for interior lights. With a meter, today I determined that they're powered when the nav lights are turned on; I don't know about dimming. What I'd like to do is put LEDs there to provide a bit more light on my panel, but I have no idea if there's anything out there compatible with the existing pieces or whether they'd have to be substituted out. Can anyone fill me in on what these are, whether there's anything compatible, etc.?
  5. I have digitized the POH for my 1969 M20C; you'll have to double-check that it matches with your '65, but I've attached it here. I have the digital copy loaded into my Foreflight, which is convenient. I even went to the trouble of setting up the table of contents, so it'll be somewhat useful, but note that "find" really only finds the page and won't necessarily highlight the actual text. This is the 1189 version of the manual. mooney-poh-1189.pdf
  6. Still looking for the manual for a 1969, part number 1189. Afraid Hector's copy is missing a bunch of pages :/ (Thanks for trying, though
  7. I saw the 1970 manual, but that's part number 1203, and I'm looking for part number 1189 (from the Mooney publications status list). I'll certainly grab the 1977 version, but I really want the specific manual as a starting point…
  8. I hadn't noticed the download section yet; thanks for pointing it out. Don't see anything applicable specifically to the 1969 there, though. If no one pipes up to say they have one, I'll get around to scanning mine, and I'll at least try to upload it And yeah, I will need to post some photos TBH, though, I still haven't had a chance to fly it yet; the annual was just completed.
  9. Just bought myself a 1969 M20C and I'd also like to find a digital copy of the POH that I can load on my iPad. Anyone have one of those lying about? (For the curious, the plane is in nice shape, previously owned by an IA who did some real nice work on the panel; major features include manually actuated speed brakes, electric gear and flaps, and some speed mods, including the 201 windshield. The avionics include an S-Tec 30 with GPSS fed from a 430 with WASS, and a GMX 200.)
