  1. I use the same delta parameters from peak for TIT as are recommended for EGT. Both are proxies for where peak ICP occurs and TIT correlates directly with EGT. Here's a chart I put together for my Bravo. Its an amalgamation of data from a number of different sources, Savvy and COPA among them, and serves as reference for the edges of the "sort of bad" (orange fin) and bad (red fin) places to be. The granularity of the numbers in the chart may be misleading in that they are general references for adjusting the temperatures and not definite prescribed points to adjust to. I primarily use the 70% line at 30"/2200RPM and TIT ~45d LOP, which well exceeds the orange fin 25d LOP minimum from the chart. To get the red fin boundary numbers, subtract 50 from the ROP numbers and subtract 40 from the LOP numbers. In reality this is way overthought, in my true engineering fashion. In practice I set 30/2200, adjust FF to 13.2, and check that my TIT is <1600. I built the chart to have references should I choose to do some experimenting with different power settings and fuel flows. Cheers, Junkman
  2. I use an app called Evernote to electronically store and organize all of my documents, not just my airplane stuff. I scan or email everything to Evernote as I receive it and organize it into an electronic "filing cabinet". Everything is searchable and each document can reside in multiple folders. So for instance you can file all of your STCs together, and also file them separately by airframe, engine, prop, and avionics if you want. Microsoft OneNote does the same thing, I believe. I do keep hard copies of 8130s, 337s and STCs, as well as the electronic files, for no good reason other than I'm old and I like paper backups for that stuff. For other documents like pilot guides, AFMSs, ICAs, and so on I keep electronic copies in the iCloud and downloaded to my iPhone and iPad for easy cockpit reference. Cheers, Junkman
  3. I just read an article about the contest from January 2023 and it says the winner will be announced during Sun 'n Fun 2024. So should be any time now through Sunday. Cheers, Rick EDIT: BTW, while we're on the topic of aviation publishers, I'm not liking all of the advertising email I'm getting under the Flying/AvWeb/Kitplanes/Aviation Consumer et al banners since Craig Fuller took them all over. And self-serving advertisements posing as "Staff Articles" in each of those publications for everything from his airpark project to hawking his swag. I'll give it all through the end of my current subscription cycle to make sure it isn't just me being an old man resisting change, but right now I'm finding it very annoying. I'm disappointed Belvoir Publishing isn't still running the shop.
  4. Savvy Breakdown, which is now included in the lowest tier (SavvyAnalysis?) of paid subscription, has been useful to me twice. I'm an involved and knowledgable owner but I'm not a mechanic so having a number to call for assessment and recommendation saved me from two AOG situations away from home. Knowing I have them to recommend a good shop if I need one away from home is good peace of mind for me. I don't subscribe at the SavvyMX level but I probably would have benefitted from it earlier in my ownership. I do recommend the SavvyAnalysis level subscription for the regular Report Card and FEVA Reports, as well as the detailed engine data analysis available on request. Cheers, Junkman
  5. Aircraft Spruce lists Alcor 10-86309 for substantially less, but "available to order" rather than "in stock". https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/alcor86309.php Also the McFarlane listing I saw is $621? https://www.mcfarlaneaviation.com/products/product/86309/ Cheers, Junkman
  6. Dang, I was going to jump on that if Andrei didn’t.
  7. Do I understand that Mooney shipped the Acclaim with a Redline towbar and you’ll sell that for $100? Or do you mean you’ll sell a different Mooney-provided towbar for $100?
  8. Has anyone installed Maggie ignition harnesses on their Bravo? I’m ordering Maggie harnesses and they sent me a drawing showing plug wire lengths that don’t appear to match what I have on my engine. I did a rough measure of my top plug wires in place and for instance, the left mag #1 wire to cylinder #1 top is about 51” as compared to 71” on the Maggie drawing. I’m hoping to take the lazy way out and not have to disturb the installed wires to measure them accurately. Has anyone measured the length of the wires on your Slick harnesses? EDIT: Or better yet, has anyone already ordered and installed the Maggie harnesses and will let me duplicate your order? Here’s the drawing: TIO-540-AF1B Print.pdf Thanks! Junkman
  9. This is what worked for me. Electric power and Ignition on the left, lights and fuel on the right with Ice Protection over the lights and fuel. The bottom right three switches are taxi, landing, and boost pump which I use in my last chance landing flow check - taxi lights on when cleared for approach, landing lights and boost pump confirmed on when cleared to land. Cheers, Junkman
  10. My removed avionics fan motor is the same part number. Sounds like you have yours squared away! Cheers, Junkman
  11. Yes, the three Charlie weights (19.7#) were in the airplane when it came from the factory. Cheers, Junkman
  12. The entry deadline was last Sunday, 3/31/24, and the drawing was to occur sometime this past week from what I understood from their advertising. Flying Magazine has gone silent on the whole thing, having removed the contest page from their website. I just want to know if they drew the winning entry. I've already made room in the hangar for when I win my new LSA
  13. Has anyone seen anything about the much-touted Flying magazine drawing that has been taking entries for the last year and a half? The winner was to have a choice of an Icon A5, Tecnam Astore, or $100K, with an additional $30K to cover taxes and the cost of a seaplane rating if needed. With Icon filing for bankruptcy yesterday, I'm wondering how that impacts Flying's contest. Cheers, Junkman
  14. I don't recall off hand, I'll take a look at the original equipment list the next time I'm at the hangar. Cheers, Junkman
