  1. Ah shit, would've definitely joined had I known. Is there a good place to find out about the next meet up in the area?
  2. Hey guys, time to toss a new tach and cable in. '61C. Can anyone help me with part #s? I'm a bit confused on aircraft spruce, as the recommended tach is calibrated for 2300rpm cruise. I run 2500 all the time, so wouldnt i want the 2566? Also a seemingly obvious question.. i assume clockwise, correct? I just want to get a mechanical replacement in there, am not interested in electronic. and cable length? Thank you!
  3. I'm amazed at the knowledge within this group. And the plane was painted in the early 90s. Don't know what the original scheme was, but I love the dark paint that stretches the window line.
  4. Hey guys, lots of topics on bleeding the old hand pump flap system. Things like: the air will work itself out over time (didn't work for me), or have a person push on the flaps by hand while somebody inside fiddles with the handle (sorta helped a bit). Well I had a leaky actuator and got the rebuild kit from lasar. Easy fix but then had to get the air out. Designed my own method of pumping from the bottom up. Piece of cake! Now flaps pump down w first touch of handle, full down in <5. Happy camper here. Refer to pictures. Just used clear tubing and hose clamps to clamp on to weed sprayer. Then got some old an fittings to make an extension line to make life easier (optional : Could just hose clamp the tube on to the T fitting). Only question mark was closing without reintroducing air. Just put flaps a pump or so down, have someone release them by hand ever so slowly to keep fluid coming out of valve while partner caps it off. Hope this helps someone!
  5. Thanks everyone! It did say on the website that the C model started with #1940. That would mean mine was the 11th built. Pretty cool. Also, according to that, you(pstone) have a M20B... I don't know!
  6. I'm sure someone has me beat. Or do they? Anybody that knows anything in the industry will tell you Mooney came out with the M20C in 1962. I however have a 1961 M20C. S/N 1951. Is there anybody that is familiar with the manufacturing history in the early 60s? Does anyone have a lower S/N than me? Haven't seen one.
  7. Im having a tough time finding info for the 2017 qualifying clinics. Any info is appreciated. I'm in Delaware at KILG. Thanks!
  8. Hey all. Just curious if there's a simple list somewhere of common equipment codes for the occasional time controllers ask for it. Better yet, anybody able to tell me what mine would be for my 61 C model? I've got a mode-c transponder, 2 vors, 1 glideslope, garmin 496. i have no idea. any help appreciated. thank you.
  9. Hey new to the site and wanted to introduce myself to some of the local guys. I'm based out of KILG with my 1961 M20C. You are welcome to come along for a flight. Hope to fly some Mooney formation here soon. -Bryan
