  1. I had that problem a couple weeks ago in my 252. I flew out to Utah and next morning turned the master on. Everything was dead. It turned out that the baggage compartment light had been turned on inadvertently. I’m thinking of taking the bulb out to prevent this from happening again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I know it’s not exactly West Coast but Aero Comfort in San Antonio did my 252 about a year ago. Hector was excellent to work with and does amazing work. I get compliments on it wherever I go and after a year still has the great new car leather smell reminiscent of a fine sports car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I’m headed to the MAPA SF OKC PPP this weekend. Looks to be some really great training including reduced oxygen training at the FAA facility. Looking forward to seeing many of you there. Steve Stansel N252VA Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I use this one: AirportMap by Air Dave, LLC https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/airportmap/id358992096?mt=8 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Hey Bryan. I was at my hangar for a good while today. Thought you might show up so I could show it off. It looks a lot better in person and the new leather smell is awesome. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Here is their current price list. I did the Executive interior. Weight and balance change was negligible. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I had to stay low on the trip down due to a tremendous headwind on the nose. I could have made it back a lot faster but I forgot to bring a mask or cannula so I couldn’t climb into the flight levels. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I just retrieved my 252 from Aero Comfort in San Antonio. Hector and crew did an amazing job and were great to work with. The original 1986 interior was definitely showing its age. The project took just over two weeks and came in on time and price. Hector sent almost daily emails informing me of the progress. My wife picked the colours and the design. I don’t think it could of turned out any better. I think the interior is better than that in the new Mooneys. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. I highly recommend Aero Comfort to anyone who wants to have their aircraft’s interior made better than new. Steve Stansel N252VA KCXW Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I'm not sure if that is what he is talking about. The two check valves are held on with yellow high temp adel clamps. Don Maxwell told me that mechanics get them on incorrectly all the time. They have to be oriented in the proper direction and "hinge" on the top side or you will have just what you described. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hello Mark I had the same problem with my 1986 252. It would blow a lot of oil all over the tarmac and right gear door upon startup. I thought that the turbocharger was the culprit. I called Don Maxwell and he told me that he sees this all the time and that people replace the turbocharger but the actual problem is the check valves. There are two of them and they have to be installed properly. If I recall correctly, The word "hinge" is inscribed on each valve and it needs to be on the top of the valve. Anyway, I had my local mechanic check mine. He took them off, cleaned them and put them back properly. Problem solved Hope this helps. 11. What do y'all think of this one? I bought it at Lowe's yesterday. It's small, battery and sensor last approximately ten years, then you throw it away. https://m.lowes.com/pd/First-Alert-Battery-Operated-Carbon-Monoxide-Detector/999919374 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks Bob. Mine failed unexpectedly and away from the home base. I have obtained a used Energizer that we are going to stick on in the morning. I remembered seeing yours that you posted but I didn't realize it was a 12 volt. Thanks Steve Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks Lancecasper I just determined that. My starter went out yesterday. Of course, it would happen on a holiday weekend away from home. The plane is currently at KCPS, St Louis downtown. Had to drive home to Conway, AR via rental. car. Bummer. I think I have possibly located a starter and have found a local mechanic there to put it on tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hello Bob Do you still have the starter for sale? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Here are photos of what was recently removed from my 252 for an upgrade to a G500 system. I really haven't checked the value of these parts and will accept reasonable offers. If you need more detailed photos or info on a specific part let me know. This equipment is being sold as removed. All of it was working when removed. 16. Thanks for the reply Steve. The aircraft already has an air oil separator. It looks to be factory installed but is not functioning. I've tried cleaning it but I still get a good bit of oil on the belly out of the breather tube. TSIO 360 has about 400 hours SMOH with good compressions. I was just hoping the Airwolf would perform better. Steve Stansel 252TSE N252VA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Has anyone installed an Airwolf air oil separator on a 252 or 231? Where did you attach the oil return line to the crankcase? I'm installing one on my 252.
  18. I'm thinking of installing an Air Oil separator on my 252 and have tried to order one of the M20 separators but their website and phone number doesn't work. Does anyone know if they are still in business? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks to all for the info on what oil to use in my turbocharged 252. Considering everything, I'm headed out to buy a case of AS 15W50. I guess I'll just stick with what has been serving me well all these years
  20. I have a 1986 Mooney 252 in which I have always used Aeroshell 15W50. I'm changing the oil in it this weekend and am thinking of switching to Phillips XC 20/50. What are the pros and cons? I know Camguard is not approved for turbocharged engines but what are the thoughts on using it? I fly my plane regularly, 30 to 40 hours per month. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
