  1. Thank you. I’m in the process of selling my airplane. If all goes well I may be reaching out to you.
  2. How difficult is it to register a Canadian plane in the US?
  3. That is correct. It came out of a Piper Malibu.
  4. I’m selling a Garmin GNS 480 (Apollo CNX80) with mounting tray and Commander docking station. Asking $4,250. I’m also selling an STEC 901 GPSS, asking $750. I purchased both in good working order. I never installed them as I’ve opted to go with a 650 instead. The pictures of the GNS 480 are from the original listing. I’m happy to take new ones or to connect via FaceTime or Zoom to show the GNS connected to the Commander docking station if anyone is interested. If you’re in Oregon, Washington or Northern California, I’d be happy to drop these off in person. Otherwise buyer pays shipping costs.
  5. Beautiful place! Congratulations!!! Where were the mountains? Just kidding ;-) Thank you for sharing
  6. $16,000 in labor is just stupid. I know I’m going to get a lot of flack for stating this but in a a true competitive environment, where a lot of the labor is done by a $12/hour fresh out of school mechanic, this would never be the case. I know it’s apples and oranges but a brand new car can be built and assembled for less than that and that includes labor, materials, computers and an engines. A $900 iPad is more powerful than the stuff that we put in for $10,000 and its price includes assembly and parts. If I could fly to China or Mexico to get this all built and installed for a grand total of $5,000 I would do it right away. We are being screwed over by the FAA and the mechanics royally and are happily accepting it. I think it’s pretty messed up. That’s just my 2 cents. Sorry for the unpopular opinion.
  7. Here are two pictures of the down lock block which I replaced this annual. There is a lip half way down the hole which kept catching the gear lock mechanism. It’s so nice to have it replaced and knowing that the gear will go into locked position every time without having to jiggle it into place. Thanks again to everyone who participated in this effort!
  8. Jim, I just picked up my plane from it’s annual and the new owner produced block works perfectly. Sorry to hear that you’re having problems with yours.
  9. Are there other non electrical parts needed to complete the conversion? Do you have a ballpark estimate for how many hours it would take to complete the conversion? Sorry for all the questions, just interested in how much the whole process would cost if I were to move forward with it. Thank you!
  10. @Jkeene02 and @Indy I’m interested in upgrading my E to a J. Maybe there is an opportunity for all three of us to get what we want. I have a 65 E with about 300hr on the engine, 3300 total time, a few speed mods, older radios with no ADSB or GPS but an STEC 30 with altitude hold. I’d be selling in the $50,000 range. Please let me know if you guys are interested. Thank you!
  11. Sorry misread as an encouragement to message A & S. I’ll wait for their response here as I’m sure others who just see the thread might be interested in their answer.
  12. Looks like I’m late to the party. When the gf page is back up, is it too late to contribute to the drawings and to order a down lock block? Thank you!
  13. I saw that LASAR no longer had them in stock. Are there any other options? I’d like to get mine replaced.
  14. I’m pretty interested in upgrading from my E to a J. This one has everything I’m looking for minus the WAAS. If there is anyone here interested in a good E, I may venture out to the airport, take pictures and post. I understand that there may be too many moving pieces to make it happen though.
  15. Thank you Ryan! Im going to give the guys at Bandon Aviation a try. They have a great reputation, know Mooneys and very reasonable. I’ll report back with a pirep after the annual.
  16. Happy Super Sunday. My usual A&P is no longer available. Other than Lasar, Troutdale and Tom Kopczynski, do we have other good options for annuals in the greater Oregon area?
  17. Is it still for sale? I'm in Oregon as well and interested.
