  1. I agree 27 inches sounds too high. I find the IFR by the numbers chart pretty close. Pattern-wise: If I drop the gear at about 138, it will slow to around 112 level pretty quickly. I fly the pattern using 18-20 inches, using the lower-end to get to flap speed. That might be fast depending on who else is in the pattern with you. 15 inches down final modulating for glideslope as needed. And if you need to go around, start trimming down quickly and aggressively.
  2. Yes. In my case, the circular part the bolt passes through broke and left the operating piece dangling. No bent parts though.
  3. Sometimes even the best knot won't help. Citation in KTRK a few years ago.
  4. We have an Alpha for a 252. Works great. The pivot feature takes some practice. I visualize positioning the pivot arm to the same side as I’d like the tail to go and it works well for me. It can also move the plane super slowly if desired. The other pilot and my mechanic prefer to lock the pivot when pushing.

  6. May want to consider revising the instructions to hold the "flip-flop" button down until 121.5 appears in the top Com window. No needless knob cranking that way.
