  1. Yeah, I did a 15 min flight the other day to another local airport to visit someone, just decided to keep it at 25 over 24 after takeoff.. no reason to go much faster and then work hard to slow things down and worry about the temps...
  2. Sure, will post pictures when done, mine is scheduled for 3rd week of april..
  3. you can actually call GAMI up and the guys there are pretty good at going trough their stuff and how to calculate your gami spread. I did mine and found out that my GAMI spread was too low to require any new work to be done on it..so that was a good thing.
  4. Actually in the Rocket, it is harder than said, this freaking amazing plane dos'nt want to slow down... thank god for speed breaks...
  5. Well to be fully honest, the color selection was made by the lady doing my seats.. so I guess it was still a female decision, but you are right, glad I did'nt have to take an estrogen injection as well. Thanks !!!
  6. Thanks Mike, Bruce is already scheduled to come do the work in April.. How bad was your headliner to have to change it, mine is in pretty good shape according to the 2 local shop that bid on the project, both told me that only small repair and painting would be needed for the headliner, and Bruce has told me that we will do that in the time he is here. I'm a bit sceptical about the windows surrounds as well, but we will try to do our best or I will replace them later. Thanks for the info...
  7. So, here are the choices we made, beige for carpet and sand color for the leather on the seats.. 2nd picture is going to be our seat design...
  8. Well, I use to have my wife ( now ex-wife ) choose my work attire everyday and do all the color selection, but since she was given her walking papers, this role is still yet to be filled. In any case, the shop doing my seats has a women that chooses the colors, hopefully she can bring her designing talents in this . The exterior of the plane is White on top, Mooney green on the bottom and gold trim in the middle. I don't think green color for carpet would work, but flint is probably one of the better choices...
  9. Well, I hav'nt choosen the seat colors yet. I realy realy suck at matching colors... so don't want to make a fasion fauxpas and be stuck with it for the next decade....

  11. Being somewhat color deficient, I'm hoping to use the collective experience here to chose my carpet color. The plastic siding is beside the color selection, it will probably be painted even more lighther with accent colors on the bottom. Anyone who has done Spatial Interior, I would really like to hear back from you... Thanks for your opinion...
  12. I also have a normal portable tank and an emergency tank with 2 masks and no valve opening, just a pin that you pull and max o2 flows out, lasts about 15 minutes to get down. I'm having the interior done in Mid April, so for sure I will come show it off to you, I'm jelous of your EDM, so we can each appreciate the other's M20K Rocket.
  13. Hi Erik, do you have portable O2 or stock with the plane ?... I have portable O2 and it's great to go up, but I'm very prudent when flying alone or just with my 9 year old son, so I don't go higher than 10 K, with pilot friends I have taken the Rocket to FL16, since I'm not IFR yet (working on it), I can't go higher than FL18 without an IFR pilot. Looking forward coming to see you in April or May, after my interior redo is all done !!!
  14. Ok, but is this done with the tanks empty I guess, that means I have to drain the tanks ?
  15. Is it me, or that equation dosn't seem too advantageous, 25% less fuel but 50% more time... It's true that the Rocket is a thirsty bird, but boy it flyes like a dream, at least a dream I can afford... I would like a LearJet, Global or Challlenger ( having worked for Bombardier before ), but price wise, those are just a dream...
  16. Yeah, but the adapters are easly changable, it takes litteraly 1 to 2 min....
  17. Nice Erik, what were you running for MP/RPM and fuel usage ?
  18. I would recommand the EZ-tug... http://www.powertow.com/40-EZ-Aircraft-Tug-155500-up-to-5500-lbs-Includes-Adaptors_p_14.html I bought a used one here from Clarence that he had for sale from one of his clients, after a bit of mainteance it works great. One thing though, it dos'nt tow well on ice or slippery snow, even with the tire chains, 1 tire just dos'nt have enough gripp to pull 2000 pounds on a hill in snow, in summer it works awsome...
  19. Well the aircraft went trough the import process last year, so the W&B were redone at that time. I'm hoping with eliminating the sidewall carpets, it would reduce the empty weight, but the new seats with headrest and armrests might even that out...
  20. Sure, will write a pirep on the experience, but from the pictures and others who have installed this, the end result will hopefully be something I can be proud of...
  21. I guess this is something that is done by a mecanic, right ?, since I don't have any equipment to do that...
  22. With Spatial interior design side panels, we don't need carpet on the sides... here is a link : http://www.jaegeraviation.com/sinteriors
  23. I will be redoing the full interior of the Rocket next month, removing all the carpets on the sidewall and all. Most of the work will be done by me and Bruce ( Spatial Interior ), but signed off by a mecanic I know I need to keep track of the weight removed and then put back, but I was wondering what would be the most efficient modus operandi ? I was thinking of getting a somewhat precise scale, weight everything removed and then weight everything put back in and go with that... is there a better way ? Do I have to also document how far from datum were items removed and put back ?, or is that way over the top ?
  24. Please don't forget those who are too far away to come to texas, maybe something in the north-east, I know I would register in a heartbeat. Thanks !
