  1. I was able to get a quick reply (email) from MAC Tech Support, and the diode across the master relay for our '81 J is a 1N2483. Alternate IN5060 or GE3720.
  2. Interesting story from a Mooney pilot, somewhat related to this topic. http://www.aopa.org/pilot/never_again/2007/na0704.mp3
  3. Great info! Thank you. I believe the part number and specs for the diode are in a MAC drawing that I do not have. (The wiring diagram for the airplane only shows that a diode is present, not its specifics) Tomorrow I'm going to call MAC Tech Support and attepmt to get a PN, or at least some of the specs.
  4. So, with regards to the old style relay 6041H231 I have a question.... Our '81 J recently had an electrical issue where a ground short smoked the jumper cable between the two smaller terminals on the master battery relay. (Old style H231) The wiring diagram depicts a diode between these terminals, but I haven't had much luck locating a part number or spec for the diode...... Does anybody know if the newer style relay, H105, requires this same jumper w/diode, or could it have possibly been build into the newer design?? Or does anyone have any info on the diode I'm referring to on the master relay? Any help is greatly appreciated!
  5. I simply pull out the seat bottoms, creating a void. Then the seat backs fold forward after pulling a release lever. As the seat backs are at a 45 degree angle, I pull them (the cushions) off of the back support, which then folds completely down to allow a flat cargo compartment behind the forward seats.
  6. Thanks! It turned out great......which it should after taking x2 as long as originally quoted. All in all, very happy!
  7. Thanks everybody for the quick responses! jlunseth, I believe you are correct. The button in your picture looks exactly like the one we have installed. Our fuel totalizer has a separate button for resetting fuel used/remaining, installed on the far right side of our panel. -The Dude abides, man.

These are pictures of our M20J 201 before paint and interior.
  9. Hello everybody! After a long search, my dad finally pulled the trigger on 'the Mooney' for him.......an '82 M20J 201. It is a real solid airplane, only needing a paint and interior update. Last week I picked up the plane, had a very straightforward checkout with a Mooney CFI, and then flew the aircraft to Phoenix for paint and interior. It was a pleasure to fly and I now understand why it is such a desirable airplane! On the instrument panel, directly left of the left fuel tank gauge is a button labeled "F/T RESET." Looking thru the POH, including the supplements, I could not find any reference to what this button does. On the electronic fuel flow indicator, installed on the right side of the panel, is a similar button used for resetting the 'fuel used' function. I can't imagine there would be two separate buttons for the same function. Looking at other panels, I have seen this button installed on several Mooneys. Any thoughts? Thanks in advanced for any insight! Dustin
