First, I'd like to apologize for the absence and delayed responses. Work got extremely busy and I've spent the last few weeks working nights and weekends and had to put this task on the back burner. Hopefully things will be a little smoother the next few weeks and I can focus more attention to getting the plane sold. It is currently in annual and should be completed this week. With work and weather I was unable to get it to Maxwell for annual and decided to use my local shop who I have all the confidence in the world in and have been extremely satisfied with all the work they have done for me in the past. To answer a couple of the questions I've seen here....yes I believe it is one of the planes that they demo'd for Roy. I have several photos from the formation flights after the new cowl was installed but I'm unsure who the pilots were. The plane was featured in several publications including the LOG with articles about the LoPresti cowl. I have those publications also. It also won the 200hp speed competition at Sun 'n Fun at some point but not sure when that was. It has a decal from that on the panel. We have had several bites but my lack of availability may have shunned some buyers away. As to not posting an asking price, there were several factors in that decision at the time. For one I didn't want a pricing discussion on an open forum. When it's listed on a for sale site it is what it is and I agree a price should be posted plus you don't get everyones opinion (that many have no clue) and three side discussions throwing the thread off track. Also, we were still gathering a little information on what we thought was a fair price based on the current market. Furthermore, I have a partner in this plane and wasn't 100% sure if I wasn't going to just buy him out. So I may have been a little premature even putting it on here but I did and that's where we are at. With all that said we are "asking" $129,500.00 for the airplane. From the people I talked to most seemed to think we were in the market, the plane is as nice as advertised and I believe it will sell somewhere around there, time will tell. I would be interested in another partner in the KLCH, KDRI area if anyone is interested, I just can't justify it by myself with work I'm only able to fly 50-75 hrs a year right now. Finally, I had many email responses and tried to reply to everyone. Most wanted log books and I finally have them available to email. They do not contain the new engine log book as it is with the mechanic but this annual will be the first entry other than oil changes in it. If you were one that was interested in the logs please shoot me another email and I'll try to get them to you ASAP! Thanks Andy

Mooneymite: if interested shoot me a message to discuss pricing. I don't want to get involved with back and forth and every joe's pricing opinion on a public forum at this point. rbridges: Although the kid would probably prefer to go with the plane he's not part of the deal. He loves to fly!!! Only picture I had on my computer showing any interior other than panel. kevinw: The cowl really sets it off on the ramp. I love the look as much as the speed increase. I've never had one without the LoPresti so I don't know how much faster it is. This particular plane has a neat history it was one of the LoPresti show pieces. I acquired several pics from the previous owner with Roy flying the airplane, demoing the installation, it has been featured in several publications and I have all the copies of them also. It won the Sun 'N Fun 200hp speed competition at some point (I'm not sure what year) It's placarded on the right side of the panel not pictured.
  6. Well, the sad day has arrived, due to life changes and work it's time for our much loved bird to go. N11724 has been a great airplane to own and fly. Obviously, I'm partial, but I can't say enough about how nice of an airplane she is. She will make someone an excellent cross country, IFR machine. Complete logs, NDH, and meticulous maintenance history. Going for pitot static check this week and annual before the end of the month, it'd be a great time to combine with a PPI! Once she comes out of annual we are probably going to list with a broker but I thought I'd offer her here first. This is a turn key airplane that needs absolutely nothing. I am going to the airport this evening and will post more pics asap. Times are subject to change as we are still flying. Always hangered. TTAF: Approx. 4200 Engine: Approx. 60 hrs since "0" time OH by Western Skyways. Gold Seal Warranty. Non "D" conversion. (split mags) 60 hrs on new prop gov. and prop overhaul, dynamic balance on prop Engine mount was tested and repainted everything else Firewall forward is new (minus exhaust) Approx. 25 hrs on vacuum Approx. 10 hrs on alternator Nav/Comm 1:Garmin 530W Nav/Comm 2: SL30 Transponder: Garmin A/P: Century 31 Aspen PFD Panel mounted 496 slaved from 530 4 place intercom Lo Presti Cowl JPI 730 engine monitor w/ FF slaved with 530 for fuel required New EI digital tach with OH Custom Fit Sunscreens Corrosion X treatment No leaks Donuts, brakes, exhaust all new/oh in last couple years. All ad's complied and compliance logs I'm sure I've left something out but those are the highlights. Serious inquiries please message or email abenoit@lakeareaelectric.com for information and asking price. Plane is located @ KDRI Possible partner and possible relocation to KLCH, KUXL, KCWF may be of interest. P.S. FAA registration is 1982 but Mooney model year 1983.
  7. Well hope he knows someone there because there is absolutley nothing in DeQuincy as far as accommodations go! That's about 20 miles west of the house. They do have cheap fuel though. 29 knot surface winds when I landed around one @KCWF and it didn't let up all afternoon. Hope he found smoother air than I did at 3000'.
  8. IIRC they had a nice J at Waco Flying Service in Waco they use for training and rental. I travel there for work sometimes and they have excellent service there btw.
  9. If you're on the Southwest side of La I extend the same offer as John. If the West Texas trip involves a deer lease you don't need a plane, we can take mine!!!
  10. Autopilots Central! I know there's someone somewhere that will say different but my experience with them has been A++
  11. Had the same problem in my J. Broken wire. New connector crimped on and no more problem. Hope yours is an easy, cheap fix as well!
  12. That's the road we are headed down now. Have a new T22 being shipped today. Hopefully we'll be back in the air next week. Wish I'd caught that before I had paid to OH our T17 twice!! Lesson learned.
  13. We were with Starr our 1st year in the mooney. Neither pilot instrument rated. One pilot zero mooney, zero retract, something like 70 total hrs. Other had 150 hrs, 15 mooney, high performance, complex. Neither instrument rated. 125,000 hull, $1 mil liability, 0 deduct, ground and flight coverage. Was like $1500 and some change. No claim, although they did hire an "expert" on our behalf when we had a problem to determine cause and fault. Renewal went up substantially, they quoted us even though they sent a non renewal. Our agent said all his Starr customers had seen a large increase. Claimed they were getting out of small GA market. Forget who we moved to (binder is in the safe at office) but renewal was $1200. Each pilot over 100hrs time in type, one with IR, same coverage.
