  1. Just don’t use the Fluorosilicon blue o-rings with hydraulic fluid. I’ve had the set pin back out of the safe-air valves. What you have is a proven design. One just needs to change the oring once ever 25y. Lol. -Matt
  2. I can’t stand the safe air ones! -Matt
  3. 1. M83248/1-109. Just installed one myself. Would you believe that unit will seal completely metal to metal with out an oring! Mobile jet 2 was the oil. 2. Gallon zip lock bag. -Matt
  4. 1 & 2 could both be the same issue. Check the pressure screen gasket to make sure you installed the correct gasket on the pressure screen. There are 3 types of gaskets. Depends on what screen, and filter set up you have. 3. What makes you think you have an intake leak? Fuel Stains? many times the tabs for the intake tube are overtorqued and bowed. Take the tube off and file the edges down on a flat surface. Also, intake tube can hang up on the lip of the riser and not fully seat. The tube should seal on its own with no spooge . Also, the oring on the sump has two different part numbers as well. The sump can ware a grove where it won’t seal on the sump. That’s all I can think of, -Matt
  5. Pulled a PT6 in July last year. Just received it back from OH this month. Stabbed it on today. Seems that way across the board with regards to timing. -Matt
  6. What rebuilder? I’ve turned 3 engines with the same rebuilder since you’ve downed yours. -Matt
  7. Strange. Wouldn’t work on mine. I have a very early SN engine and sump. Maybe it fits the Avstar fuel servo. I would not fit with my Bendix fuel servo. -Matt
  8. Thanks, saw those. The ones I have have one center screw and almost a bead on the edge of the cover. They mounted to the center cap that covered the wheel nut. Turns out I bet they’ll be hard to find. -Matt
  9. Lost one recently. Any spares available? I would like to get the older ones that have the lip on the edge and single retaining screw. Maybe if it would have had 3 screws it wouldn’t have departed. Didn’t see any on eBay. Thanks, -Matt
  10. Ahh, yes .032. I just had a surefly fail its internal lighting/timing test during an annual. It was supplied with a new lycoming PN. Lycoming rebrands the surefly with their own label and then seals the dipswitch plug with some serious thread lock. There were not in stock at Lycoming. Ordered a new one from Lycoming. They sent the wrong dash number. Ran like crap. Ended up ordering a new surefly from Spruce and setting the correct dip switch. Funny thing is the surefly and the lycoming(surefly) had different dip switch settings. Nice people still at surefly but they are legally bound not to release info on the lycoming line. -Matt
  11. The surefly manual states the required gap. It’s much larger than a normal mag. I personally love the BY plugs. .040 if I recall. Many techs might miss this during inspection or service. I did until I read it. -Matt
  12. To clear the air, I have purchased from Don this year. No issues good communication. We seemed to have a few things in common. Good luck! -Matt
  13. Do not use SMO propeller. Call Todd at American propeller in Redding. They have a driver that comes down once a week. Great service. -Matt
