Cylinder head temp barely off the peg. 1970 M20E

Recommended Posts

So today I was flying and the cylinder head temperature barley got off the peg. Air temp was I the 70's. 5609d932612561ab32963b2061eccc32.jpg

This is my cowl opening (yes the plugs were gone...).

Is this ok? Usually the temp is a little bit more, and cowl flaps were closed.

Thanks!

However, I note while flying around 8000' lately, in areas where ground temps were well below zero ©, I was not even getting 300 deg on any of my CHTs.

<------ would be highly interested in one of those $200 engine monitors.  Maybe I need richer friends.

Ebay. A lot of time looking. There is a reason rich people are rich...in my experiences with rich people...It is not from "giving stuff away". Deals are out there.
