It can be busy as WTI is on-going. This makes for one great airshow from the FBO ramp. If you are up in the evening you can see live fire on the range to the north. BUT...We are coordinated with ATC and get supurb traffic deconfliction in our 4 hi/low formation training areas.

It looks like I can make it. Is the newbie arrival on Friday similar to the schedule of the advanced on Thursday, before 1800? Is there any reason a newbie would want to come on Thursday aside from hanging out with some cool Mooney pilots?

Cowboy would be more than happy having newbies show up on Thursday (if able). Newbies are welcome to an open right seat during Friday's proficiency flying. Newbies should arrive NLT Friday at 6pm for dinner followed by Academics. Newbie flying starts Sat AM.

+1 on Dave Martin

From my point I would highly recommend anyone who can take the opportunity to experience formation flight from a first hand view! Invaluable in my opinion. I'll take anyone who what's to ride along!

Last I heard plans are for 5 or more Mooneys from the Texas Wing of the Caravan arriving Thursday.

Karson, I'll have to talk to you about some plans for this as well. Having ZERO experience with formation flight, and very little time in my Mooney so far I'm a little hesitant to actually participate in any of the flying but I'd love to ride along with someone to get a feel for how it's all done. I'll be marking this on my calendar for sure!

Dallas you are welcome to jump in with me. I have a feeling if you didn't bring your plane that you would regret it. I figure I would get there Thursday and then grab an empty seat with someone in the advanced group on the Friday flight, then participate in the newbie group on Saturday. I bet you would feel pretty comfortable participating if you did the same thing. Let's do another get together some time soon.

Yeah now that I see the schedule I think that might be the right way to go for me as well. Worst case scenario I have fun flying out, ride shotgun with someone and have fun flying home. I'd say we could caravan out there, but I know how much faster your plane is than mine!   :)

Definitely need to plan another get together!

Dang!!  I won't make it out of Wichita until the Saturday.  We only leave on our trip on Thursday the 26th, and could not make it to Yuma before the 28th if we really pushed it.

Oh well.  I will just have to wait until we get our own organized here in Ottawa/Gatineau.
