Need a service manual for a 1970 M20E to answer a question about the step.

Ok, I'm stumped.  I'm looking for a digital copy of a service manual that covers a 1970 M20E.  I have a new to me 1970 M20E and the step is fixed, but the way it is fixed just doesnt look like it came from the factory that way.  Anyone have a manual?

The coolest part of this scan is the inset.

It indicates clearly that the DG is the vac source for the step actuator!

The second coolest thing is there is no Acad being used in 1966!

The steps became fixed in 1968. It's possible you had a factory "downgrade." What makes you think it didn't come that way? Is it loose?

I'll grab some pics when I am at the airport in a bit.  When I looked at it the way the step was attached to the airframe in the battery compartment just looked mickey mouse.  It may be done correctly, it just looked odd.  I'd personally like to remove it, one less thing hanging out in the breeze.

Hmmm... I never thought of this, but in the event of an engine failure, your step will deploy as a speed brake.

Here is the photo of the step install. I guess the washers are what threw me off.
