  1. What’s the details? I just my do that. Bill.
  2. I’m 70. Still teach HPDE. Noticed it at 69 (2018) BUT had lung cancer in 08 surgery, chemo, radiation, brain cancer in 13 surgery and radiation(chemo is ineffective on brain cancer) been clear ever since. So I’m not you average Joe. The brain cancer is what killed my flying.FAA told me no more medical. Too much a risk for seizure they said. I wrote an article for the Mooney magazine about returning to flying from lung cancer. like Dirty Harry said, “A man has to know his limitations “
  3. i do check every once an a while where my old plane went on Flightaware Just to see if its being flown, and it is.
  4. Hey, guys, miss the action. After some hot laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway in July of 18, I found myself lifting on the throttle in turn 3 where I never did that before so that told me I was losing it. In October at another track, was doing same when a guy walks up to me and says” nice car, know of any like it for sale?”. I thought a few seconds and told him that one just went up for sale and gave him a price. He took it around the track twice and said sold. He lives in Columbus Ohio, and came the next week with his trailer and cash and took it home. I don’t miss the maintenance. Now have a travel trailer and go to Dutch Oven Gatherings 6 times a year. Going to the first of 2020 this Thursday thru Sunday. This is a safe activity for a 70 yr old ex cancer survivor. Saw where Mooney came out with a 2 door version and then closed. Too bad. Miss the reunions.
  5. Sold my Mooney in 18 to a returning cobra pilot. Now it’s in Arkansas. Know David and flown with him several times. Had a hangar at Wilgrove from 03-19. Bill
  6. here is my door close procedure: 1: Smartly close door with door pull, 2: hold closed then push handle forward to latch. 3 test with push with knuclkes at top/center and about 6 in down on area between door window and rear window. if any movement, open and repeat. would happen to me lately about once a year. always on takeoff, so I just come back and land unless a short flight. Bill PS Garmin has a flightstream product for an additional 1k, to provide wireless GPS data for tablets and other devices.. when i put the GDl88 in, they roughed in for flightstream. was told install is no more than 1hr.
  7. that beamer had some HP, not your typical 320i! Bill
  8. hangar #3 (3rd north of office) . if im not there, help yourself, my friend Gary has that hangar, mine was #9, it sold may 1! Bill
  9. Awesome, Welcome home. See you soon I'll be around, Bill
  10. ok it is on you tube, i'll send you the link. https://youtu.be/FPl1eiA_62Q Bill PS my car only has 240 rear wheel hp so the newer cars with 400 and more pull away on the straights. under green flag, i hit NASCAR turn 3 at about 118 and hold foot to the metal around 3 and 4 until I have to lift for the new chicane at 4.
  11. Thanks for update Jon, sent you a pkg today with some magazines (M20E reviews), owners manual, and gascolator gasket. don't forget your O2 transfill bottle here at 8a6 and garmin manuals (hardcopy). Is located in hangar 6 (I think) right side on floor. I'll update number tomorrow or Monday if wrong. I"m Glad to hear as the plane needs to be flown much more than I could. I changed my profile pic to reflect new adrenaline rush. this was last April on the Charlotte Motor Speedway new ROVAl. want to ride along ? http://www.creativecomputersolutions.com/3lapsatcmsroval.htm Bill
  12. Now for sale only as I sold my Mooney, first $300 gets it shipped to them. Still in original box from Aeromotors.
  13. I am based at 8a6 we are c 5 mi from downtown. CLT has a GA terminal, WILSON AIR i think. They charge a fee to use the terminal (call for specifics). Last time I flew in, was for a museum event and I parked at the air museum (home of us 1449, the Miracle on the Hudson). so no charge. Flew IFR for the 10 mi trip! other good ones are Monroe (KEQY) free, and Concord (JQF) they charge for terminal use too. They are further away but may have rental cars. Bill
