  1. Didn't know this existed! Thanks a lot. Something for me to seriously consider.
  2. Don't worry, I don't plan on telling everyone about the dog. Oh crap...
  3. We have cameras up all over and saw the thieves in action but there was not enough detail for it to matter. All we determined from the video is it happened at 11:30pm. For a privately owned facility with no funding we do the best we can. With that being said this is the first act like this in 17 years out here. I know it wont' be the last so we're vamping up lighting and motion sensors as we speak.
  4. We have open type shelters here. it looks like they tried to pry into our t-hangar but with no success.
  5. This is just a heads up to some people in the south east. At 11:30 pm on 4/13/17 four of our planes here at 2GC were broken into and radios were stolen. KX155s to be exact. There was actually an instance where they broke into an aircraft with four bose headsets on board and only left with the KX155. Two other instances they left handheld GPSs in the aircraft. Seems like they are just targeting this one type of radio. I heard from an avionics shop that an airport south of Winston Salem was hit similar to us. Be careful if your plane is stored at a more rural airport without decent security measures. These guys were professionals and didn't really hurt anything. Also, keep an eye out for these radios, please!
  6. I don't know if you noticed or not, but the interior is completely tore out of mine. Everything is getting recovered with leather and repainted. I wanted to buy this thing and fly-fly-fly but it seems like I can't stop 'fixing' things! But fuel leaks isn't one of them, it had bladders installed and I love it. No leaks! But please come by anytime. There is always someone there during the week and I probably just missed you that weekend.
  7. One of those Mooneys is mine at 2GC. The red one close to the runway. I'm new to the Mooney scene but I love that plane. Fly in some time and chat with us. I'm an A&P/IA and stay busy with planes around the area. I actually have an M20E in the shop right now with the engine sent off the the engine shop.
  8. Checking the P-leads is a good idea. Never hurts to make sure you're working on the correct magneto. I think your problem is in the magneto. I know you said that a shop looked at it but a coil can test fine on the bench and then start acting up once the engine warms up. By swapping the spark plugs (assuming you switched the plugs with plugs associated with the other magneto), you eliminated them because the issue stayed with the same cylinder. By changing out the wire harness you eliminated a spark plug wire breaking down. A sticking valve would show up on both mag checks, not specific to one side. Also a sticking valve would be extremely noticeable during taxi and in flight. Good luck
