  1. Okay, I need some advice. The 1966 M20e sometimes stumbles on runup. The problem acts like dirty plugs. What been done: replace plugs with fine wire, both Magnetos have recent re build with new P leads, recently new spark plug wires and clean fuel injector nozzels cleaned and checked. The plane will fly perfect for several hours in the air. However at runner the problem can reappear. Help, any suggestions??
  2. Brittain BI 805 Servo Control Valve & Accu-TracII Control Panel- I have added several pictures of both items on the original post.
  3. Hi Fellow Brittain AP Lovers- Okay, now that Brittain has closed down ( hopefully temporarily) what avionic shops are the experts on Brittain AP? I am in the Midwest ( Chicago Area) does any one know of any shops that has some experience? I have talked with Cecilia Henderson ( Brittain) and she said any avionic shop can do installations. I wanted a shop with some experience. I want to get my B11 currently installed with toggle switches ( no Control Panel) properly installed and add the B12. I have assembled too many parts Accu Trac II Control Panel. So I am offering several of these key items for sale here before I place them on ebay. I. Servo Control Valve, Model BI 805 ( recondition unsed with copy of yellow tag) This is the item that is hardest to locate (it will work both B11- tracks VOR's & GPS / B12 will track a DG heading) ...( plus $15 shipping)......................$795 II. Control Panel- for Accu- Trac II ( used- statement from avionic company approved for service) This is the second generation control panel ( plus $15 shipping)........................................................................$495 I would like to sell both items together. The BI805 and Control Panel are key items for the Accu-Trak and the BI805 is also used in both Accu-Flite & Accu Trak system. I Hope Brittain is Able to Re-Open Soon, My First Choice For Installation. Email : lsmith9233@comcast.net or call 630.880.3044 DSC_0451.NEF DSC_0449.NEF DSC_0434.NEF DSC_0433.NEF
  4. Hi- I have been assembling key parts to complete my Brittain PC BSS (Basic Stabilization System) by adding B11 (Accu-Trak) and B12 (Accu-Flite) on my 1966 M20E. I discovered that I have duplicated several key parts that are hard to locate. The BI 805 Control Valve is used for both the B11 & B12 system and is the heart of both systems. So I am offering several these key items for sale here before I place them on ebay. I. 5. Thanks for the input. I am sorry, I fail to state, I have an older model engine analyzer Insight Gem 602. I probably do not know how to use it properly ( installed maybe 25 hours ago). This unit does not allow any down loading of data. I have basically done ground operation and high speed taxi on the runway without getting airborne. I do not plan to get airborne until, it operate properly on the ground. I did not notice, anything unusual with the engine analyzer. What should I be looking for with the 602, in EGT or CHT / or other areas causing the problem.
  6. I have a 1966 M20e, that developed a rough running engine. I am working with my AP and we have not been able to solve the problem longer than 1 hour. The engine runs fine for an hour with cleaned plugs/ injectors but start to run rough first on Left Magneto than Right Magneto. Here a short list of what has been done: 1. Cleaned Fuel injectors with new screens under cap 2. Flow tested injector all even spray fuel into bottle evenly with clean fuel. 2. All new spark plugs. 3.Compression check; 68, 76, 75,76/80 5. Rebuilt Left & Right Magneto less than 25 hours ago. 6. New Spark Plug wires less than 25 hour ago. Any suggestions? The major issue is with clean plugs/injectors runs very well for about an hour or until shut down. Once shut down, on restart, it misses first on Left Magneto and than on the Right Magneto, than both Magnetos. Suggestions?
  7. Thanks, for the input on the snubber / restricter valve on the MF/FP gauge. I was able to order one with that information from Lasar. According to Lasar, this a common problem. I will clean my old one and keep it as a spare. Thanks again.
  8. My 1966 M20E is showing no fuel pressure on the MF/FP gauge. It shows no pressure with the boost pump on. The engine is running well during run-up and I can hear the electric fuel boost pump when turned on. I have sent the MF/FP gauge out for repair and after overhaul no fuel pressure. Any suggestions on possible problem with the MF/FP gauge.
  9. Yes, the 1963 flap is curved at the end and the 1966 flap is a straight edge flap. Your PC will not work well or not at all, the 1963 flap will be much harder to turn ( due to the curve edge). To have a PC, you must have a straight edge flap. Cabo Lee 1966 M20E, owner
  10. I have a 1966 M20E and had not flown for several years. My trim wheel was very hard to move ( almost immobile). Working with my A&P/IA, I lube all the joints with new grease and removed the rear access plate. I used a wrench ( on the flat hex part) to gently turn the flat hex part (gently in both direction). The lubrication of the all joints/ trim wheel and turning the hex part resolved my trim wheel issue. I my trim now works great in flight and on the ground. Working with your A&P you may one to give this a try.
  11. Okay, I have not flown my M20E for several years, because I started a new business venture. I noticed the Trim Control Wheel is seized in place and will hardly move. Any suggestions on getting it to work. I have been running up the engine, ground taxiing the plane, changing the oil, etc., but never move the trim control, because I was not flying. I have an annual planned with a AP/IA that owns a C. However, I wanted to take care of as many simple squawks as possible. Any suggestions?
