  1. We are are waiting, did the sell go through? If not PM me. I need to replace our Mooney.
  2. We are about to do our interior, what does that kit include. We are looking for shoulder harnesses, and headrest, along with all the other stuff, carpet, headliner etc.
  3. Welcome, We have had our B for 15 or maybe more years, and I love it! If you have any questions, let us know, I know we will be happy to help if we can. @Spike Kavalench I would love to know what your numbers are with the RayJay installed on your B. I flight plan for 135 kts, at 11 to 12 gph, anywhere between 3k and 6k feet. I can get up higher do better with the fuel burn but my trips are usually not long enough to justify. Higher than average fuel burns to keep cylinder head temps below 400 normally around 380. We have had it up to 17,500 (took a while to get there even starting at 7,600ft) to go nonstop from KPSO to KARM (730nm), and landed with 45 mins worth of fuel on board. All this to say the B is a very versatile platform and a great plane. Keep us updated on any upgrades or fun trips!!
  4. I have read several of your post about your M20J w/ M20Turbo, and was hoping you could offer me some information and your opinion. My father and I are looking to trade up from our M20B to a M20K252, but in the process came across a M20J with the M20 Turbo and would like to get you opinion of the system, along with some flight info such as normal speeds and fuel burns at different altitudes etc. The plane we are looking at are both offered by All American and are within 10k of each other, and similarly equipped. Do you have any heat issues, major engine issues, or problems with the turbo in general. Any information would be great and thank you in advance.

  5. Thanks guys I'll look into the repairs since we just spent money on avanioncs upgrade. and put off the new exhaust till next year while we build the funds again.
  6. We need a new exhuast the orginal 61' can no longer be repaired and are considering the PFE, my only concern is reducing or evening out the CHT's. During summer they can be as much as 75 degrees difference. Will this help?
  7. Works just great, would have never known its wasnt orginal if not for this thread.
  8. Where is the best place to get the welting, and any suggistions on how to apply it?
  9. Thanks for the info Rookie. M20F-1968 do you have anything for a 61' B model. I assume since just the fuselage was stretched in 66' the covers should fit a short body B.
  10. Forgot Dad was flying the King Air tonight, had him stop at the Mooney hanger while at the ap. Here is what we have on the cargo door.
  11. Thanks I will take a look at Jim's and see what he has.
  12. Hoping someone can help me with this, we just installed GNS 430, JPI, and looking into a new transponder with ADS-B, but before moving forward we need a plane cover that will cover the avionics access panel completely. It looks like most of the covers out there will stop just short of the access panel. While the plane is hangered when at our base airport, it is left out side when traveling, which is happening more and more. On a recent flight I lost a radio due to water getting in from the access panel. The radio was working when I landed, the weather then got worse (heavy rains etc) and the next day when I fired up the plane, the radio was not working (radio shop confirmed it was moisture). So before we sink more money into avionics we want to make sure we are not going to lose them in a rain shower. Long story short, I'm in need of a cover that will stretch from behind the wind screen to the front section of the cowling. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  13. I don't think I have 1 so I will have to take one next time I'm at the airport.
  14. So where are you on the STC! I have been reading the thread and I'm very excited. Hoping the STC comes quick so you can work on the B model next. Us B Boys need a way to keep our engines cooler and more MP since they didn't have the ram air in 61'. Good work and hope all is going well.
  15. Dose anyone know if that hinge was used on the 61' B models. My cargo door has a long spring that it rest on when open and you have the pull the spring forward in the same manner for it to close. I don't know if the spring was a previous owner solution, or if the spring came from the factory. Would like to get a hinge if I know it will work.
